"Jujutsu Koshien"

It's bittersweet seeing these fun/happy moments with Itadori when we're reminded of his fate 😭💔. We're really enjoying this JJK ride and, as usual, we can't wait for more. Thanks so much for watching with us and we'll see you for the next one!

Western bread was introduced to Japan through Potugeuse traders, who used their own word for bread, 'pan'. I think bread is pan in Italian as well but I'm not sure. I remember being told that the 'pan' in deep pan pizza refers to the bread, not the dish it's baked in. I don't know if that's true. Da is another, less formal way of saying desu. It's just a plain copula; a form of the verb to be. So Pan da = it is bread. It's a bad pun.

The early seasons look ROUGH, specifically season 1. When I watched it in ~2001 on said VHS fansubs, it was pretty ugly then. But it's 100% worth it. Each season looks better, and the races are done is such a master-class way. And the soundtrack is legendary. Easy recommend to go out and find it!

I’m seriously so stoked for them to see the movie

Nat

I’ve been wanting to watch Initial D, but they just took it off Crunchyroll 😭

Nat

I think the first part is even more sweet on Gojo’s end, the planning for the exchange event was a month prior to it happening and he likely made the change for baseball or other options then lol

rewatching this after seeing 0 and season 2 is craazzyyyy. I missed so much subtlety having to wait that year or more for season 2. you girls are lucky to get to watch it all straight thru and should remember these questions you are asking now!

Isn't it more than that? The old principle upholds the rigid Jujutsu laws where the collective's rules are absolute, prioritizing the group's safety over any individual life. Yet, Gojo embodies the very exception and single point of failure in this utilitarian philosophy. His existence challenges the dogma of no exceptions, revealing that the collective's survival – both in terms of being protected, while also not harmed – ultimately hinges on the decisions of a few powerful individuals, exposing the system's inflexibility and thus the collective's fragility. Ironically, this reinforces the principle’s desire to suppress potential outliers before they can defy the established order. However, with Gojo around, the collective's stability is already far more dependent on individuals than the old principle acknowledges (though perhaps there's an overconfidence here that the five families could contain Gojo). With external threats now looming tho, rejecting exceptions like Yuji overlooks the chance to turn potential risks into valuable assets for the collective. Embracing such adaptability would reduce the group’s dependence on a few powerful individuals, like Gojo, and strengthen the collective overall. YAPPINGTON CITY YAPPING MAYORRRR BABYYYY

This was super needed back when I was getting fansubs on VHS tapes (yes, I'm old). The first episode of Initial D literally had full screens full of text explaining what all the car terms meant (very helpful for a non-car enthusiast) and were essential. I dislike the lack of notes as I think losing the context hurts more than when translators try to 'localize' a joke into a similar kind of joke into another language. Just my opinion though.

Franky H

i look forward to these videos and yall's one piece videos! the enthusiasm for those series reminds why I got into them in the first place.

Austantinople

I dont know if you remember but back in the day anime episodes would literally have a translator's note explaining so much stuff about the language haha, good ol' days

Movie a banger for sure

I feel kinda bad for todo XD i think he is a pretty good friend

Lol that juju scroll is like a Japanese dad joke, so it doesn’t translate well, the word bread in Japanese is “pan”, that’s why he says answer should be panda, and if you break down panda spelling in Japanese, “da” translates similar to “is”.. so which do you prefer, pan or rice, answer “is pan” or pan da

Daniel

I’m excited for the movie first!!

I’m convinced Gojo asked the students if they wanted to continue the event, and then changed it to baseball, to give them a day off to be normal kids again and have fun. Also I adore the ants scene. The whole time the old guys are talking about the collective and how Gojo is the antithesis but Gojo passes by stepping on them and they aren’t damaged. Love seeing ya’ll as always.

Bri

no spoilers… I can’t blame neither gojo or the old man, I mean not everyone is capable of protecting themselves from the higher ups and disobey their orders like gojo or protect themselves and being able to fight sukuna. but gojo’s plan is also smart, to be able to finish sukuna for once and all and break the cycle but it’s too dangerous bcs there are also other villains (geto) working on their own plans regarding sukuna/yuji and they don’t know

For the Juju Stroll: "bread" in Japanese is "pan." So obviously PANda prefers bread (pan).

The mentions of Shibuya in this episode make me so so unbelievably hyped to see your reactions to S2!

nic

Him not killing the ants was more gojos way of reminding them that they are ants to him and only by his will do they continue breathing

Lucky

A lot of people call this episode filler (I understand on the surface, they're playing baseball briefly) but this is an extremely important episode for all of the characters involved and the series going forward. It's also a rare time for some reprieve for these poor sorcerers lol. Also don't worry, Hanami wasn't holding back per se, she was more talking about how stopping her drive to fight and escape instead is incredibly difficult! Great reaction as always ❤️

miles

I think it wouldn't make a difference if he heard them say anything or not, Gojo is just a menace like that to higher ups regardless

miles

I want them to reach shibuya arc right now 😭

Zain kb

I maybe reading too much into it, but I feel like Gojo overheard them talking about assassinating Yuji, so he used his infinity as a subtle threat. Because everyone might as well be ants to Gojo.

James Williams

Old man implying that sorcerer society needs to be like the ant colony and then Gojo, “hehehe” while stepping on his idea.

James Williams

So….Who is waiting for S2 like a mad man….
