Nobody has heard of the Blackbeard pirates because until recently Blackbeard was a member of Whitebeard's crew, so "The Blackbeard Pirates" are only recently formed. By the way, the actual pirate captain Blackbeard's real name was Edward Teach. No middle initial that I recall. It's not important to the show. It's just a little fact.

I'm going off the CR subs, that they saw, which said: "Navy HQ Fleet Admiral (Naval Commander in Chief) – 'Saint Sengoku'". Just checked & the original says "Gensui", which means marshal (= general of an army), so calling Sengoku commander-in-chief of the Marines is correct. The one you are talking about is referred to as "Sekai Seifu Zengun Sōsui" in Japanese – "Zengun" implying the entirety of a nation's military (encompassing all its branches, such as: army, navy, air force). You can see where I am going with this... So yeah that person is the commander-in-chief, however, not of the Marines (that is Sengoku) – but instead: "Supreme Commander of All the World Government's Armed Forces". We can thank Viz for this confusion... Also, that person's rank is never mentioned in the anime afaik, so it won't lead to confusion anyway (except maybe "One Piece Film Strong World: Episode 0"🤷🏾‍♂️). On that person's first apperance in the main story tho, the introduction box seems to be missing. TLDR; fleet admiral = commander-in-chief (AND there can be commander-in-chiefs for different institutions!)

Correction, the Fleet Admiral and "Commander-in-chief" are two separate ranks. The Commander-in-chief is a desk position just above Fleet Admiral, and is the former Fleet Admiral.

Bellamy's Spring power must have been hard to master. Unlike Luffy who can bounce willy-nilly because his body is rubber, Bellamy is still just a regular bodied human. That Spring Hopper, as we saw, was a high risk move - and Luffy answered with greater force. Adiós, Bellamy. 👋

And that’s how One Piece introduces a villain. Not in a dark location with eerie music in the background, but with him happily eating cherries pies in a tavern and dropping one of the best speeches ever about dreams. And you already know how great of a character he’ll be when the villain has the same dream / principles as the main character. Love these world building episodes. This is Oda throwing pieces at us. Not enough to see the whole picture but enough to start imagining / theorising how the complete puzzle may look like.

Friend, did you look in detail at chapter 151? The elders or the (5 Stars) mention the 3 great powers. He didn't mention any names in detail, and if you've been paying attention to the series, you know what powers he's referring to, Oda showed them to you in chapter 151. I just mentioned that here Oda presented to us in great detail what was coming. In April 2003 this chapter premiered and in the Fandom it blew our minds. What I mentioned is not bad brother. relax

Y'all have excellent creative media literacy, and Oda is a master at creating and meeting expectations in this arc. The way this arc builds tension with Bellamy, from his intro to the bar fight, to the attack on the Saruyama, all the way to the fight with Luffy, is so good. Oda delays Bellamy's come-uppance as long as possible to the point that you want it to be quick and you want it to hurt when Bellamy finally gets it. And it does. That punch is world-shattering. But the best part is? Bellamy says "I bet you can't even throw a punch" and Luffy turns to the nearest onlooker and says "Hold my Devil Fruit." Luffy bodies him without using his Devil Fruit powers once. Not only does Luffy meet Bellamy's challenge, he does it in a way that resoundingly shows you, me, and everybody watching that Bellamy isn't worth the Gomu Gomus. Can a punch get more satisfying than that?

Such a big indicator of these crew’s power that rockstar, who has a bounty essentially matching Luffy’s, is a newbie to their ship, essentially a fodder character. Without even mentioning how strong the top members of the crew have to be, imagine a large crew consisting of Luffy level fighters cruising around the sea!

When we met Ace, he told us Blackbeard was on Whitebeard’s crew, specifically Ace’s division. But Blackbeard killed a crewmate and ran. Ace said its the “worst crime” you can commit on a pirate ship. As leader of the second division, Ace is hunting Blackbeard down. We also know Blackbeard invaded Chopper’s island which is why King Wapol ran away and abandoned his people.

The three great powers were first introduced as a concept after Baratie and before Arlong Park by Johnny and Yosaku when they explained the 7 Warlords (and name dropped another warlord that wasn’t shown this episode). The Warlords and Marines are the two powers you've been exposed to, the third will be explained later

i was confused about the lack of beard thing with whitebeard and blackbeard but in japanese the hige in shirohige(whitebeard) and kurohige(blackbeard) directly translates to facial hair.

So many reveals in 151. The leaders of the World Govorment revealed, we meet new Warlords, new Marines. We meet Ace's captain the great Whitebeard and that Shanks is going to meet with him. And of course the reveal that cherry pie dude is Blackbeard. The one who Ace has been hunting and destroyed Drum Island with his crew. And of course, the Bellamy punch.

This arc/saga has the most "pure adventure" vibes in all of One Piece IMO. We are going to the Sky Island because its a dream and just sounds so darn amazing... no princess in need of rescuing (not that there's anything wrong with that). These Jaya episodes capture this perfectly! Excited to see the next episodes (as well as the other ~1000 :D).
