2024-06-07 20:42:07 +0000 UTCthere's definitely a good part of the fanbase (especially Yeagerist) who believe that Marleyan had it coming and have no right to feel wronged for what happens to them (and will happen) completely ignoring that the only reason they feel that is because we've been seeing the pov of Paradisians first. in terms of revenge everyone is justified, Gabi was justified in killing Sasha for what she did to her friends, the scouts were justified in attacking Liberio for what Marley did to them these past 9+ years and Marley was justified in persecuting Eldians for what was done to them for 2000+ years. The idea with "leaving the forest" is to let go of this infinite cycle of hatred that only helps perpetuate violence to build a better world. its too bad that this theme goes over so many fans

To be fair, Pyxis was the first one to drop something along the lines of "Humanity will perish not because of titans, but because of we are fighting each other causing famine and other things" and "Some people believes that if a powerful external threat were to exists, humans would cease its wars and unite". The themes further iterated by Erwin. No wonder that Isayama once said he drew some inspiration from Watchmen. Not only the characters, but the themes.

I think that sums up everything I love about the show because the show is ACTUALLY a very philosophical show trying to be a battle shonen instead of battle shonen first, philosophical later like most other shows. In the very first episode of the show, we have characters like Eren, Grisha, Hannes and Armin dropping some crazy lines that set the tone of the show. It's just we're too blinded by its insane action, crazy ass animation, powerful VAs and banging soundtracks to even notice the philosophical and political nuance of it.

Did you notice at 10:00 that in the crowd of men gawking over pretty Pieck, Porco was RIGHT THERE in front of your very eyes and nearly everyone missed him in the crowd? Just like in Liberio of how Pieck ran to her comrades to alert them that fake-soldier Yelena was sus, she did the EXACT same thing here, acted cute but was signaling Porco that she's headed to the roof so that he knows exactly where to emerge from! --- Kiss: "Reiner,, Reinerrrr REEEInneearrrr" Haylo: "This show is amazing...!" Kiss: "But at the same time it SUCKS!" Lol, you 2 are a hoot! This show is amazing BECAUSE it's not afraid of playing in the grey area of morality. There's no clear protagonist and antagonist. They actually kinda prepped you up for this mindset back in season 1 by fake-killing Eren and letting us follow Armin/Mikasa for a couple of episodes to make us accept that "maybe the show where eren's not the protag is a thing" ...they even did it again by not showing the scouts for the first part of Season 1 so that you can get to embrace the other side of the war (reiner and zeke's and gaby/falco's stories...) so that you dont come into this scene right here and be like "yah i mean obviously Eren's right and the others are wrong ...right?... right?) and then they pulled the rug from under you only to come back and put it back in and pull it again LOL. And that whole "pregnant titan mommy historia bird-feeding a baby titan... Ya'll really took your tinfoil hats and made satellite receiver dishes out of them huh? :D lol

As for spoilers: I second what Dorak said. You can't get spoiled by something that you don't know will happen. Especially with openings that use a mix of original content and content from episodes to come. You may recognize a certain scene or image from the OP, but you never know beforehand because you don't know which is which.

I was an anime-only fan who, upon hearing the chorus, knew what was coming. It's kind of a moot point, though, as the girls won't be watching OPs until after the show is over.

2024-05-13 13:44:13 +0000 UTCone thing i love is that during the first 3 seasons eren is our closest companion on this journey: we experience things through his eyes, we know what hes thinking and know what hes doing. we know him. but in season 4 erens sort of replaced the role of the basement and has become our big mystery. both we the watchers and the characters can only guess what hes up to because it feels like we dont know him anymore. the distance between eren and everyone whos been at his side (his friends and us) has never been this big before.
