Levi isn't the type of guy to just trust anyone and that speaks volumes about why he is willing to follow Erwin. And the fact that he tried to talk Erwin out of leading this expedition also says how much he cares about Erwin as a dear friend. As for the little ongoing feud between Jean and Eren, well that's partially motivated by the fact that Jean still has the HOTS for Mikasa and he can't grasp why she is so dedicated to Eren. So he doesn't miss a chance to mog Eren in front of Mikasa when he can. I think Mikasa kind of realizes it a bit and maybe she likes it? Still she is always on team Eren and that's just 100% speculation on my part so take it with a grain of salt. Lastly, Haylee is right about Erwin being somewhat "selfish" about his need to find out the truth. At the same time it's driven by the memory of his father and also by the memories of those that have died under his watch. But remember what Kenny said to Levi before he died, "Everyone had to be drunk on somethin' to keep pushing on".
