Thanks for all of your suggestions!! It's so helpful for us when creating these polls. We decided to stick with a shorter series for the time being, but based on the feedback, there are definitely some longer ones that we will HAVE to see! (What even is Mr. Robot??) We really can't wait to get to all of them!

Who cares, I rather them pick the popular show right now and get more viewers/patreons and see Dark later. The show isn't going anywhere. One thing Is for sure, and that is we will have a blast seen Haylo and Kiss react to whatever show comes next.

I never got into it even though i love mysteries and mind breaking theory crafting, but the german language of it all was a turn off right off the bat. Which was an interesting revelation to me because I am able to watch japanese anime with subs, or korean movies with subs, or even chinese dialogue in movies in subs and im fine, but maybe it's because a romano germanic language (quite literally), it got distracting me who speaks english and french and arabic, i kept getting tugged away from the subtitles and not for emotional delivery, but the words would subconsciously distract my reading. I will give it another shot but i figured i'd share it. Also apparently i head bly manor was really good and the girl's emotional journey through hill house might make me want to go watch bly manor now just to watch haylee and kiss.

I suggest it as an alternative to Attack on Titan when it's done (yes. i'm willing to wait lol) I think you 2 are the kind of ladies that love a brain teasier like AoT and it's one of those "notebook needed" shows that im sure you'll love! (Have i ever steered you wrong? :D). - And then maybe we can slot in Shigatsu No Uso (Your Lie in April) after demon slayer's hashira training arc is done? I think those hauntings of the past emotions and working through trauma with support systems are something that I felt really spoke to you in Haunting of Hill House, and that show's a beautiful musical masterpiece filled of character arcs that you would love.

2024-03-17 21:27:54 +0000 UTCFor me it ruins it because the voice actors are either flat-out bad actors, or their performances lack depth of feeling and emotion, and a few of them are jarringly odd choices for the characters they're voicing. That's just my opinion, of course, but it's hard to get dubbing right and easy to get it wrong.

2024-03-17 21:22:57 +0000 UTCThe dubbing doesn’t ruin the show. I agree it is not the best dubbing, but saying it ruins the show completely is a little dramatic lol. Agree with everything else though. Definitely get a moderator for comments in Dark. Probably should have one for AoT as well. And the website for Dark is pretty legit. You can tell they really put in the energy to make it great.

I hope it comes back for the next poll please!!! i'm not someone who is easy to please, but Dark pleased me so hard in term of writing and concept, best show of all time. I guess many people dont know the show just cuz it's in german....not very popular among watchers, but really good.

2024-03-17 13:30:48 +0000 UTCDark is fantastic. One of the best shows I've ever seen. It is dense and requires concentration but it is so, so rewarding. Dark is in German, so you will have to have subtitles on unless you both speak German. DO NOT WATCH IT WITH ENGLISH DUBBING ON. The voice dubbing is terrible and absolutely ruins the show. Watch it in German with English subtitles. The writers wrote all three seasons before they began filming, so they knew exactly what would happen, to whom, when, and they knew how it would end, and how they would get there, before they started shooting it. You are guaranteed a wild ride, and the show sticks the landing like nothing else does. There is a website that Netflix set up just for people to be able to keep track of what is happening on Dark, and it's absolutely the gold standard for TV-show websites (and it's beautiful to boot). The best thing about it is that each time you visit, it asks you to choose the last episode you've watched as your entry setting, and then, no matter where you go on the site, it will only show you or tell you things that have happened up to that point. You can use the site to keep track of names of characters, relationships of characters to each other, what has happened so far in the plot, locations you have seen, important objects, etc. Use the website just before you watch an episode so that you have plot points and details fresh in your mind as you go in. You can also use it after each episode to clarify anything that was confusing in the episode. Obviously, since you'll be reacting, it will be impossible for you to use it *during* an episode because you can't pause, and looking away means shifting your attention from a show you have to look at to understand. Just in case you end up watching Dark (right now it doesn't look like it will be the winner of this poll), here is the website: https://dark.netflix.io/en DON'T CHOOSE SEASON ONE EPISODE ONE UNTIL YOU HAVE STARTED WATCHING THE SHOW. Once you do, photos of all of the characters who appeared in the first episode will appear in family-tree charts that you can explore. A menu on the left will allow you to choose which elements of the show you want to search for (people, places, things, etc.) I would also recommend you choose a member of your Patreon whom you really trust and who has already seen Dark, and grant them access to your Patreon and YouTube accounts so they have the ability to delete comments from other users, as any discussion of Dark from people who have seen it has a 100% chance of people posting spoilers without realizing they're doing it (and this is not counting people who post spoilers because they don't understand that what they're saying is a spoiler, or people who post spoilers becaue they're jerks). You'll have to look at Patreon's and YouTube's guidelines and stuff to figure this one out. (This is not a request to choose me -- if I were you I wouldn't choose me, as I'm newish to your Patreon and you don't know me 😉.) Choose someone who has been a Patron for a while and who loves Dark.

Same goes for Mr. Robot, however for some reason not many people have heard of it, probably because they think it's one of those nerdy shows about hacking and stuff only... which is kind of true but that would be the same as me saying Attack on Titan is simply about killing weird giants, the story goes way way beyond. I'm 100% sure you'll love Mr. Robot but keep in mind that would be more a treat to you as the numbers may not be that high if that's your only goal. Can check numbers on YT, just be cautious of spoilers in thumbnails.

It is an all time banger (as you’ll see from some of the comments here) but may require some pen, notepad, corkboard with string in terms of investment and theory crafting.

It's subversive and high art but also easily digestible and super smart. You should go in blind beyond that information because it's truly a show like no other, especially in some of it's filmmaking aspects and writing.
