The show slowly drip feeds you little bits to keep you interested and guessing while also withholding a lot of information for later on. The same goes for next episode; it’s wild how much is foreshadowed on a second watch when you know exactly what’s happening. Glad you guys are enjoying it!

I don’t agree that him justifying his actions negates the point of his speech. He says he feels guilty and awful and that he deserves to die. But then he reaffirms that it had to be done anyway. “I didn’t want to do it but I had to” basically

The first comment is correct. If you want Eren back one of you has to be wiling to stain your hands with my blood. This also ties into that scene in season 4 bringing everything full circle

The dynamics at work here where we can't understand the technicalities of Ymir's or the warriors' motivations at all but nevertheless we get almost everything we need to know from the vibes alone. Man this story is just special.
