2024-02-15 10:42:43 +0000 UTCMy theory is that the reason why on the second attack only Bert attacked is because Eren transformed for the first time, which was an unforeseen roadblock. Reiner didn’t push forward bc he didn’t know what to do upon seeing this revelation. The whole Trio, Annie, Bert, and Reiner also had eyes set on joining MilitaryPolice to get deeper into the Capitol, but after learning about Eren’s Titan ability, they decided for Annie to go ahead with that plan while B & R followed Eren into the Scouts to stay close and relay information to eventually capture Eren. This is my theory to answer your question of why only the colossal Titan attacked on the second invasion.

2024-02-05 12:17:39 +0000 UTC(there is no spoilers just me mumbling too much) The crazy thing is if you start watching from start now, you can see director always puts annie, bertholdt and reiner in the same shot while ymir and krista in the same shot too. The story is roughly completed in the writers head before they started making anime/manga. So every scene that includes reiner, annie or maybe others we dont know yet (hehe, maybe there is maybe not) have some kind of clue that they are from outside. When they see beast titan they get shocked, bertholdt trying to bit is hand when ymir reveals herself, their whole hometown thing, reiner making connie feel better about his mother (so that they dont get what is really going on) every single scene, you can find some clue and it is just astonishing the amount of details directors and writer puts into this series. Yep this is just the beginning so be ready. the prologue is over. There are stuff that you already saw and wont know till the last episode, it is that crazy.

2024-02-04 01:45:32 +0000 UTCIf you go back to the episode reiner got "stuck" in Annie's hand, you'll see that a few moments earlier, Armin told Reiner and Jean to put on their hood so that Annie didn't know who they were (because she wouldn't risk killing eren), but right before Reiner "attacked" Annie you can see him purposfully taking the hood off. Back then you would just think Reiner was careless and focused on helping Armin. But now we know that Reiner actually WANTED her to see his face because he knew she wouldn't kill him.

Erwin specifically fed misleading information to almost everyone, so that not only did noone know where Eren actually was, but if they were attacked from a certain location they could narrow down the people who might be traitors. If you remember back in season 1, Erwin asked Eren "Who do you think the enemy is?" after the two captured titans were killed. He already suspected someone from the inside was plotting against them, and the expedition outside the walls was done to lure them out into the open, so they could capture them. At that time Erwin had no idea who the titans or traitors were, he just knew it was someone, hence why they fed wrong information to the entire group.

In the next one in E4 Eren was standing on Wall Rose and Bert hit wall Rose, there was no next wall for Reiner. That was a gate between wall Maria to Rose.

There's not a single tiny little detail the creator of this show misses throughout the entire thing. Yall havent seen anything yet. Also look at how torn Reiner is by what he has to do, and look at Bertolt crying while hes transforming. The rest of the season is just a banger. I mean the whole show is and it just gets better with each season

When Jean, Armin and Reiner decide to attack the Female Titan, Armin comes up with the plan to cover their faces because he's figured out that Annie is looking for Eren and won't kill someone unless she knows they aren't Eren. Right as he is charging Annie Reiner actually removes his hood blatantly and seemingly for no reason and the camera pans to Annie's reaction so that you can tell she recognizes Reiner. It's basically impossible to spot on a first time watching but the fact that they went through that level of detail animating it blows me away every time I think about it :D

If you were to go back and rewatch from the beginning (which you will when you’re finished with the show, I guarantee it), you’ll see so many clues and hints to this reveal that we just never even noticed on first watch. Like they literally LOOK like their Titans but nobody catches that. And the way the reveal happened…so genius. It really makes you doubt what you read or heard, you just assume it was a mistake. Because they can’t be those Titans! There’s no way! But it’s true. And the betrayal that Eren was feeling, that’s all of us watching. We loved Reiner so much. 😭 I was not disappointed by this reaction. Thank you for the double upload today, I’m so glad we didn’t have to wait three days!!!

My favorite thing about this epised besides the reveal is how beforehand, there's this sort of weird vibe/energy and something's off, but you can't tell what.
