As you see what the anime does with these characters, you'll be able to decide for yourself if the changes they made to condense about 45 eps into one season of a show worked (IMO, they work well, with some minor things I would have liked changed). Also, note the distinct lack of the Garp and Coby plotline. Garp doesn't show up in the anime at all for ages so if someone was not too far into the anime, the Garp reveal in the Live Action was a big surprise for them too

2024-01-18 17:55:44 +0000 UTCI forgot that there was a flashback for Buggy and Shanks in these episodes, wish the live action had included it but it might do it later down the line perhaps. It's also funny seeing the difference between Cabaji vs Zoro in the anime compared to live action seeing this fight again. Cabaji didn't stand a chance regardless but it's weird to think he actually cut Zoro originally as opposed to basically getting strangled and one tapped in the live action. Keep up the reactions, always excited for the content you two deliver. Onto the Syrup Village arc and our favourite wannabe Pinocchio.

2024-01-18 17:44:13 +0000 UTCFor me, the live action didn't do enough to showcase Sanji's abilities and how much drive he has. In the LA, he gets messed up by the fishmen and only comes back to get Luffy outta the sea. In the anime he actually gets a pretty good first fight, and he gets the interactions with Ghin. Plus, some of my favorite moments from Baratie are missing, like when Sanji overhears everyone talking about how good his cooking actually is. On top of that, Sanji watching Zoro's fight with Mihawk is a pretty pivotal moment for his character. Don't get me wrong, I think the LA was good in it's own way, but nothing beats the original.
