I've been following your reactions to AOT, but this has been great to rewatch too. And like by myself but not. Thanks!!

Replying this here in case anyone else has trouble with this. If it is out of sync for you there is a work around. You will have to download the video and use a media player that lets you manually set playback speed. I use SMPlayer, I tried VLC but it won't allow for enough decimals for the required speed setting. You have to set the speed to 1.0425 in your video players options and it will sync up perfectly. Yes, that took a while to figure out ;) This also goes for their following videos in this series.

I also watch it on Max but it refuses to sync properly, my video is faster than yours, really wanted to see your reaction to this one, but I have to skip it :(

First and foremost, Fantastic reaction! This show is going to be a wild and emotional roller-coaster! If you are wanting to learn a bit more about the aftermath of Chernobyl not touched upon in this show there is a documentary that was on the Animal Planet channel called "Wildlife Takeover: How Animals Reclaimed Chernobyl" It shows how nature is adapting and overcoming the radiation in the area. It also looks like you can watch it for free on Youtube.

I forgot to mention there are 2 cuts due to a potty break and we turned on subtitles. 😅

Oh so sorry! Noted! We watched on Max and it was counting down I thought. I'll double check for the next one. - Haylo

Thank you for another great reaction. 😊 Wow, you guys like it intense! 😅 First heavy animated fantasy drama, now heavy real drama. 😨🙈 I'm from Germany, the part of it that was the former GDR (East Germany) and I remember this incident vaguely from my early childhood. It was a very big thing all over Europe. It happend north of Kiev (today the capital of the Ukraine) and the radiation could even be measured in Sweden and Germany, about 1400 km away. The first days we didn't hear anything, as we were part of the communist block and no one told us. We first heard of it in the West German News. Days later we were ordered to keep the windows closed (because the wind blew the radiation cloud towards central europe) and later on not to buy food from eastern european countries. There was more, but that is what I remember myself. This show is astonishingly accurate for a western production depicting something that happened in the Soviet Union. They left out some things, played some down or condensed them, exaggerated some for dramatic reasons, but added (almost) nothing. This actually is a show where the label "true story" is very deserved. 🙂🤔 Djatlov was exactly as he is depicted here, there is original footage of his trial, where you can see it. (I won't tell more because of possible spoilers. 😅) The actor portraying him does a brilliant job. They found a Powerplant of exactly the same type as Chernobyl and a city looking like Pripyat in Lithuania to film at. Valeri Legasovs tapes are real, as well as everything else. 🙈 Thank you for reacting to this not only very well done, but also really important show. Incidents like that should never be forgotten and depicting it (even if it is fictionalized) helps to remember and hopefully avoiding similar mistakes. 🙏🙈

It's quite hard synching up without more of a count even during the beginning of the episode! At least my episode counter doesn't follow the same style as yours. When yours say 00:53:50 mine says 8:11 minutes for example
