“The trials are over, with the use of veritaserum, the new administration under the youngest minister Hermione Jane Granger, has managed to sort out the workers and their participation regarding the shadow regime of Lord Voldemort. The result of the trials has concluded that:

- The 477 ministry workers who were under the Imperius curse have been declared innocent.

- The 176 workers who supported the dark lord but were not death eaters have been put on a waiting list depending on their crimes some are waiting for individual trials, and others have been forced to take loyalty oaths, and even if it looks like they're not going to face any punishment, the moment they say something that could imply their support for Voldemort or their support for blood supremacy will put them in Azkaban and in some cases they could be sentenced to death.

Note: The law to punish blood supremacy with death has been approved.

- The 49 workers who were on Voldemort’s ranks and in his payroll have been sentenced to death.

Note: Among those 49 workers, 17 have the dark mark, it seems like the ministry wants to give a message to the world of being merciless because the seventeen marked death eaters are scheduled for public execution on the 17th day of the month."

Harry couldn’t help but smirk, he was in Malfoy’s manor, and he had been reading the daily prophet, it’s been more than a year since the defeat of Lord Voldemort, but even when there was a certain peace, Harry and his friends knew that it was just an illusion, there was so much work left to do.

However, with Hermione in the ministry, and the fact that the people in the Wizengamot were afraid of Harry’s power as he could take the place Voldemort left, they approved the laws that even affected them, which didn’t surprise Harry too much, after all, no matter how proud they feel they are, at the end of the day, if your life and wealth gets threatened, you either fight against the oppression or conform.

And in this case, conforming is not a bad idea, their pride has indeed gotten hurt but that doesn’t matter in the long run, they’re going to keep their wealth and their influence is going to die with them, Harry is convinced by that not only because of his power but also due to the changes Hermione has put the country though.

It seems like Hermione has taken inspiration from the actions allies took after World War Two, and now it has become a crime punishable by Azkaban to spread the blood supremacy nonsense, and in extreme cases, the death penalty would be applied too.

Yes, this might sound a little authoritarian, however, it has been too long. The wizarding world or at least this magical country had the chance to change, to make things better after the defeat of Voldemort, it’s sad to restrict them so much but compared to how many muggles and muggle-borns died in this war, restricting a few to save millions of lives (as it has been estimated the number of muggle victims from the death eaters is close to that) was worth it.

It's clear that the violence will never cease to exist, and the prejudice will continue in some circles, however, Harry, Hermione, and Ron are convinced of one thing, they’re sure that with time, it’s going to disappear or it will become a laughing matter.

After all, according to Hermione’s investigations, there are fewer and fewer pureblood children born every year, so, it seems like if they don't change their minds about their behavior, biology will eventually take care of them and their legacy, Harry would like to feel sorry for them, but most of them were part of the genocide, the destruction, and the nonsensical deaths.

He was hoping that the example of Hermione and Ron, the union between a pureblood and a muggle-born, would influence the wizards and witches of this country because, of course, Harry knows that no matter how pure your blood is, if you’re not from the top families then it’s very likely that you don't have time to think about the purity of the blood.

“Harry…Harry…Harry!” Harry’s thoughts were suddenly interrupted the moment he heard someone entering the room.

“Oh, hey Cissa,” Harry said with a calm tone as he placed the newspaper on a table close to where he was sitting.

It was still weird for him to be able to hang out like this in the place where a lot of horrors occurred, thankfully Narcissa has been able to remodel this place as she was planning to sell this manor because she now has a good reason to keep going with her life and forget about everything that happened here.

The blonde was carrying something in her arms, and Harry couldn’t help but smirk as he saw her, she looked lovely even in this state, and for some reason, he was feeling a little embarrassed, but he decided to control himself, soon, he got on his feet and took her hands before he gave her a peck on her lips.

Things got very difficult at the end of the war, Narcissa wanted to die, and he thought that the revelation of their child would make her forget about that idea, but she still wanted to die, so, she had to be interned in St. Mungos, he tried to convince her to live, after all, no matter how he felt about her at the time, she was carrying his baby.

He knew it was selfish to keep the woman alive just so she could continue with the pregnancy, but he wasn’t going to let her kill their child by doing something she was trying to do in the heat of the moment.

However, he made a deal with her, he was going to let her do whatever she wanted with her life after their child was born. She angrily accepted his proposal, and to avoid her doing anything crazy, he decided to live with her, at first they were living in separate rooms but with time, the two of them realized they didn’t like to sleep alone.

At first, it was just sharing the bed and nothing else, but little by little, they became more and more intimate, at some point, they considered themselves to be friends with benefits, but then, as the birthing got closer and closer, they became close too and Narcissa one day surprised him by telling him that she wanted to raise the baby with him.

He was nervous because of the stigma, but contrary to what they expected, the public was positive about the news, Narcissa Malfoy was a tragic figure in the war thanks to Harry’s efforts to clear her name because she was carrying his baby, it seems like it worked, she gained the sympathy of the public by claiming that her former husband was the one to blame for the actions of the family and that was the truth.

They decided to not get married as they didn’t know if things could go further between them and they were fine by just being together and raising their kid, however, Harry was starting to change his mind lately.

“Harry…There’s something I need to tell you,” she said as she handled him their daughter.

It was a beautiful dirty blonde, green-eyed baby who laughed once she was in her father’s arms.

“Yes, Cissa?” He asked as he played with Lily Deneb Potter.

“I’m pregnant again,” she confessed and Harry’s eyes widened.

“Well…If that’s the truth then…” Harry suddenly placed their baby in one of the couches before he took out a little box and now the one surprised was the blonde. “Narcissa…You’ve made me very happy this year and I realized something…I want to make things right…Would you marry me?” Asked Harry on his knees.

Narcissa couldn’t believe it, she never thought she could have a happy ending and yet, the kindest and bravest wizard in the world was asking her to marry her, of course, she accepted and soon, they slammed their lips against each other, neither of them was expecting to get to this point in their lives, but there was one thing for sure, it seems like the cursed gift she gave to the dark lord was anything but cursed to her.
