Chapter #16: The Battle of Hogwarts.

Midnight finally came, and it was time for the final battle that would decide the destiny of the magical world, Lord Voldemort and his death eaters were standing proud in the gardens of the Malfoy family, and Harry was standing side by side with Narcissa.

“It’s time my friends…It’s time for us to attack Hogwarts, I hope all of you are happy with the assignment I gave you, so, before you get going let me give you some last orders…I want you to defeat as many people as you can and I only want you to use the killing curse if it’s your last resource…I want to have my fun too so, the fewer people you kill the better,” Voldemort couldn’t help but smirk as he said this.

He could sound as if he was being merciful, however, he had more sadistic and horrible thoughts about what to do with his enemies once he finally crushed them, death was mercy and they were going to get it but not before he had his fun with all of them who dared to oppose him.

“One last thing…Severus, take Potter with you I don’t trust him being alone!” Voldemort said to Snape who bowed after him.

“As you wish my lord,” Snape replied before he walked towards Harry.

“All of you get going…I’m going to observe the battle from the sky, I want to see the chaos and misery you can bring my followers!” Voldemort ordered and soon all of the death eaters started to disappear.

“I’ll come back…I promise you,” Harry said to the older witch who nodded with a fake sad expression.

“Shall we get going, Severus?” Asked Harry with a smirk that was hiding something behind but the dark lord wasn’t aware of what it was.

“Yes, let’s go!” Snape told him with the same emotionless expression he always has on his face.

Soon, everyone apparated to their assigned locations. After being left alone by Voldemort and his death eaters, Narcissa decided to go to the necromancer’s room where his throne was located, she was going to take this opportunity to save her son and the husband she didn’t love anymore.

“Don’t worry you two…I’m going to save you, I know you can’t say anything due to the dark lord’s silencing spell but I’m going to get you out of here!” Narcissa promised them and soon she started to search for a way to free them.

Meanwhile, Harry and Snape were on the outskirts of the forbidden forest alongside the death eater army the dark lord told Snape to command, the plan was to create chaos in the forest so the beasts and all the creatures inside could move towards the castle to attack everyone.

“Dobby now!” Harry said with a serious expression before he and Snape moved away from their current position.

The rest of the death eaters were confused and they didn’t even have time to think about what was going on as some kind of metal floor was teleported above their heads and it didn’t take too long for the thing to impact against the death eaters, some of them were able to cast some spells against the metallic floor but it didn’t do anything and there was a good reason for it.

“Really Potter? I think a boulder would have been enough,” Snape sighed.

“Well, I wanted to be sure so, I decided to use the material muggles use to build spaceships, I mean, if the forces caused by the earth’s gravity don’t do much to this material, spells won't cause a thing,” Harry said with a smirk.

Almost a thousand death eaters were crushed to death and the ones who were on the edges of the metal floor tried to fight back but they didn’t live for too long, they could only stare in disbelief and horror at Snape and Harry, but most of all at Harry, what an ironic way to die, by a material inspired by muggle technology.

“Let’s keep going,” Snape suddenly said and Harry nodded.

They continued walking and they could see from the high towers a bunch of silver-colored spells, Harry couldn’t help but smirk, Hermione’s strategy against werewolves was working, the plan was simple, they turned wizards into snipers by simply giving them silver bullets, for the rest they just needed to use magic to launch the bullets at a fast speed that the bullets looked like silver lasers.

Meanwhile, Snape and Harry encountered a lot of students and adult wizards who didn't hesitate to attack them, however, Harry and Snape didn't do much, they just disarmed and left them unconscious, Harry told Dobby to take the unconscious ones to the great hall, they also used magic shields from time to time but it was futile in the end, Snape and Harry were unstoppable.

Their thoughts were suddenly interrupted the moment something was launched into the sky, it was like a laser and Harry couldn’t help but smirk as he watched the dark sky suddenly being lighted by a giant ball of light.

“She did it…I knew she could do it,” Harry smirked and soon the world started to hear the cries of pain as the vampires disintegrated thanks to a mini sun Hermione created.

One would think that it was very complex magic but it was just a combination of transfiguration and knowing the composition of the sun to create a scale version of it, and Hermione had a lot of knowledge about the composition of the sun, it seems like everyone helped because the model Hermione tested lasted for a few seconds only, he was proud of his best friend, without her his crazy ideas wouldn’t be possible.

“Is that a…?” Snape couldn’t believe it.

“Yes, it’s a mini version of the sun,” Harry couldn’t help but chuckle as they reached the place where the creatures and monsters that supported Voldemort were falling.

The werewolves that hadn’t been killed by the magical silver bullets were blinded by the intense light, the vampires were disintegrating leaving a lot of painful screams, the giants and trolls were affected by the heat of the mini sun and they collapsed, huge creatures like them needed lots of water and they need much more during the warm seasons, that’s why they don’t usually walk long distances during the day.

As for the creatures of the forest that were forced by Voldemort to participate in the battle like the acromantulas and other giant insects, it didn't take too long for them to hide in the darkness, there’s a reason why Voldemort decided to attack in the middle of the night.

Harry and Snape took the confusion as an opportunity to get rid of the remaining werewolves and petrified the giants and trolls, they also killed their fellow death eaters and they were surprised the dark lord hadn’t realized what they’d been doing behind his back, being up there he was probably the first one affected by the sunlight.

The mini sun disappeared after almost ten minutes but that was enough to lower the numbers of Voldemort's army, and they don’t know for how long they continued with their disarming strategy but at some point, they finally reached the front door, the wards were gone and the dark lord was now standing in front of the remaining enemies who still wanted to oppose to him even if the castle was crumbling and a lot of them had been hurt.

It seems like he was disappointed because he was expecting more death eaters to survive but the moment Harry and Snape joined him he didn’t look pleased, however, as the arrogant prick he was, Voldemort was ready to give a show to them.

“Snape…Potter…I saw what you two did,” the dark lord suddenly said with a cold tone. “I knew I was right not to trust you!” Voldemort pointed at Harry. "But you Severus...How could you?" Voldemort tried to make himself look like a victim.

Harry and Snape couldn’t believe it, they knew it was too good for the dark lord to not realize what they'd been doing, they tried to be subtle but in the end, he realized what they were doing, Harry and Snape looked at each other and nodded.

“It was actually my work…Tom Riddle…” Snape’s words made the lord furious, the tone and the use of his name were considered blasphemy. “I used imperio to force the boy to attack your men and I did it because I fucking hate you and everyone who follows you…NOW!” Snape got the attention of the dark lord.

And even if it was for just a brief moment, it was enough time for Harry to pull out a basilisk bone knife covered with Basilisk venom so he could pierce into Nagini’s head, the scream that came out of that action would be something that will haunt forever all the people who’ll survive this battle.
