Everyone in the room was completely in shock, they didn't know what to say to Bill’s eldest daughter. Soon-to-be-nineteen-year-old Victoire Weasley had risen from her seat and she had a fiery and determined expression as she faced Harry and her family, she wanted to be part of this expedition, she wanted to save her father too.

“Victoire…While I do agree that you’re a powerful witch and according to Gringotts you have a great future as a curse-breaker just like your father…I don’t think this is a good idea, this mission is going to be dangerous, I don’t think your father would be happy if he knew that we put your life at risk,” Harry explained to the young blonde woman with the calmest tone possible.

He knew that the young witch was in a conflicted emotional state, so, that’s why he wanted to take things slowly with her and her family, after all, he was ready to see Bill’s family acting like this, but still, that didn’t mean he liked to be in this situation, this is the part of his job that he’s not a fan of.

“I don’t care what my dad and my family think…There’s no way I’m staying here while everyone tries their best to rescue him…You guys are going to need me, you need a curse-breaker for this mission,” Victoire tried to make them see her worth.

“She’s right…” Hermione said with a serious tone.

She didn’t want to agree with her niece but she was right, in different circumstances, this would’ve been an interesting adventure but the situation was more complex than they would’ve liked, they were going to need someone to help them explore that place and the secrets that it holds, only a curse-breaker would help in a situation like that.

“Also…I’m coming with you guys too…Ron, you’re going you’re going to stay here to support our family,” Hermione clarified. “Before you try to defy me, you need to remember that you’re not in the best physical and emotional state for an adventure like this…You need to remember the reason why you left the Auror forces,” Hermione told her husband in a sad tone.

Ron was about to argue, but he knew he didn’t have a way to counter his wife’s argument as usual. He had a bad experience during a mission that left some scars and while the physical ones were already healed the mental ones were the most difficult, with all his problems, he knew he would be more like a pest than someone they can rely on.

“But Hermione…What’s going to happen with the ministry if you come with us?” Harry was completely taken aback by his best friend’s decision.

“Relax Harry…I’m going to ask for my vacation break…The one I’ve been delaying for twenty years and Luna is going to take my position in the meantime,” Hermione declared and soon everyone gasped.

All the people who knew Hermione knew that you could count the days she rested every year with your hands, she has been avoiding taking vacations since she became the minister of magic, so, to hear that Hermione was willing to go this far for Bill was something that shocked and warmed the hearts of all the people in the room.

“Hermione…” Ron said in a low tone as he stared at his wife with a shocked expression before he embraced her.

He was a little annoyed that his wife decided to go instead of him, but seeing the sacrifice she was going to do just to rescue his brother, that’s something he couldn’t argue against, he felt lucky to be married to her.

“Well, I guess there’s nothing I can do to persuade you to not come with us, so, with you, Charlie, and me I think we’ll be fine, I was going to ask Teddy but I think it will be asking him too much,” Harry couldn’t help but sigh.

“Harry…If you don’t take me with you I’m going to search for him on my own!” Victoire suddenly declared and she gained the complete attention of the room.

Harry couldn’t help but sigh, this wasn’t the moment to have a moral debate about whether Victoire should go with them or not, the dark-haired wizard remained in silence for a moment, he didn’t know what to do or say and even though he wanted the younger woman to not go, he knew they needed someone like her even if she was still a rookie curse-breaker as she has only taken part in smaller expeditions with her father for almost a year since she graduated from Hogwarts.

“Fleur…Dominique…Louis…What’s your opinion about this?” Asked Harry with a calm tone.

“Victoire…Please stop, this is far too dangerous,” Dominique was on the verge of tears.

“We need you here,” the young boy tried to persuade his sister using the same tactics he usually used to convince her to buy him toys.

Still, Victoire could only look at the other side of the room trying to not look directly at them, it was clear that she was fighting hard to not let some tears come out of her eyes but that was something easier to say than to do.

“Harry…I would like to have a private talk with my daughter,” Fleur said with a serious expression and Harry nodded at his French friend.

Victoire was a little reluctant to follow her mother to another room but in the end, she sighed and followed the older veela, once they arrived at said room, Fleur used a silencing charm to avoid anything from their talk being heard on the other side of the house as she knew there were going to be a few screams.

“Mom, if you’re trying to convince me to—” Victoire started but she couldn’t continue as her mother’s strict gaze stopped her in her tracks.

“Victoire…Be honest with me…What’s your real reason behind this idea of yours?” Asked the older blonde.

“I-I don’t know what you’re talking about mum, the only thing I want is to rescue dad…There’s nothing else behind my intentions,” Victoire said with a nervous tone.

Surprisingly, Fleur remained in silence and she was finding it difficult to believe her daughter for some reason, after all, Victoire was so insistent on joining this mission, they could have just hired an experienced curse-breaker to go with them but Victoire was insisting to be the one and yes, she needed to gain experience but never she has been taken to explore a place like that.

The most impressive thing Victoire has been assigned to is a small catacomb in Greece, nothing out of this world, so, someone like Victoire would be in danger in a rescue mission like this, and the thing that surprises Fleur the most is that her daughter is so eager to go even though Victoire isn’t someone known for being reckless, she prefers logic over reason.

“Let me tell you something…In this adventure you’re going to spend a lot of time with your Uncle Charlie and Aunt Hermione, two people you think are too boring to hang out with often,” Fleur started and her daughter tried to look a little lost. “However…You’re also going to spend a lot of time with Harry Potter, the man who you admire the most and the one you have a crush on…” Fleur said with a slight smirk on her face.

Victoire’s face suddenly became red, it almost became the same color as the famous Weasley hair color.

“That’s not…You’re twisting my…But…I’m doing this for Dad!” Victoire tried to defend herself.

“Victoire…I’m not trying to shame you for having such feelings towards Harry…You’re not the only young woman in the country who does that and you for sure aren’t going to be the last one,” Fleur clarified. “What concerns me is that you could be too distracted around Harry to do an efficient job that could not only harm you and the team but also kill you all,” Fleur's words made the younger blonde open her eyes as wide as she could.

She tried to counter her mother’s remarks but she couldn’t find anything, she was right, not only she wanted to accompany them because of her father but this was also a good opportunity to make Harry realize that she’s a strong woman, someone worthy of his respect but most of all, someone worthy of his attention.

“Listen to me Victoire, we’re veela, you, your sister, and me, thankfully for your brother there's no such thing as a male veela, but despite how being a veela sometimes feels like a curse right now is a blessing because the three of us can feel when our loved ones are gone, and right now I feel like it’s complicated, I don’t know if Bill is dead or alive, it could be the distance that is messing up with me but that’s how I feel right now,” Fleur tried to fight the tears.

“You’re right about everything mum…There’s no point for someone like me to go with them, they need an expert,” Victoire accepted that she was acting a bit too immature but now she realized that there was no time to think about love or crushes.

“Victoire…They’re going to need you and your veela powers to find him,” Fleur’s words made Victoire’s eyes open wide.

“Does that mean that…?” Victoire couldn’t finish.

“Yes, you can go with them but promise me something…Promise me that you’re going to focus on the mission…There’ll be plenty of time to think about love once you guys find your father,” Fleur said with a sad smile.

Soon they embraced each other, they needed to be strong for Bill and the Weasley family.
