“So you’ve been living in the woods and you’ve been living like a muggle? Now it makes sense why your body is so different from before,” Hermione said with a surprised tone, she was dressed in a golden dress.

She was sitting at a table where there was some bread and a bottle of wine that looked to be expensive, she took a sip of the wine from her cup and she smiled at the sensation, this was the first time in ages since she had been in such a good place. There was also pasta with meatballs on two plates that were opposite to the other.

“Yes, in theory, the life of a hermit sounds incredible but I think it is too glamorized as it’s a lot of hard work,” said a dark-haired wizard dressed in a black suit.

Of course, she wasn’t alone, a good wine needs to be shared after all, in front of a Hermione, Harry Potter was taking a sip of his wine too as he finished telling her the story of his life since he graduated from Hogwarts, she wasn’t going to lie, his body was distracting her.

“Hermione, I agree that I've changed, but I'm not the only one. It's amazing how you’ve managed to keep yourself in shape considering that you’ve probably spent a lot of time in the library of the ministry!” Harry said with a calm tone.

She lightly chuckled.

“Well, my parents are always encouraging me to keep certain aspects of the muggle life with me, and one of those things includes exercising, my parents are fitness geeks, I don't want to brag about it but they really keep themselves in shape even though they’re getting close to their fifties!” Hermione giggled after she said those words.

Harry smiled too, he remembered all those days when they were young and she did most of the talking just like she was doing right now and he had zero complaints about it, he could listen to her all day, after all, she always had something interesting to say.

“As you know…Magical people could live to close to one hundred and fifty years but I don’t know to what extent we muggle-borns could live, after all, due to the persecution and prejudices, we don’t usually live for too long even if we want to,” Hermione couldn’t help but sigh.

“Well, my mother is a muggleborn too so…Let’s wish for all muggleborns to live as long as the most pureblood wizard!” Harry said as he raised his cup.

Hermione did the same thing and it didn’t take too long for their cups to clash before they took another sip and then continued enjoying their pasta.

“You truly love your mother, right? Well, I can’t blame you, professor Potter is incredible and caring. I've always loved her classes,” Hermione couldn’t help but giggle.

“I can imagine, I could never take classes with her because the headmaster didn’t want me to take advantage of the situation to get good notes or to terrorize the classmates…” Harry chuckled after he remembered the red-haired woman.

Sensing that this was bringing Harry some memories of the older woman and his family, she decided to place a hand on top of Harry’s hand which made him look at her with a weak smile.

“I’ve been such a fool Hermione…All those years were completely wasted, all the birthdays, celebrations, everything…I could have at least pretended to be okay and make the woman happy but I was too selfish, I just want to apologize for being a bad son,” Harry said with a bitter tone.

“Harry…Listen to me, you’re not a bad son…You’re just a victim of external circumstances…You can’t get blamed for the decisions of crazy people, you didn’t ask to be attacked that night when you were a baby,” Hermione said with a tone full of confidence.

Harry could only stare at her with a surprised expression, this was the first time Hermione acted like this, in the past, she would’ve scolded him for not spending more time with his parents because she always tried to encourage him to get closer to them and now he understood why she did it, now he was feeling what it’s like to lose something you've taken for granted.

“I was very foolish when I was young Harry…My mind has always been busy as you know, there’s no space for feelings or something that could stop me from the things I truly enjoy like learning…It took me a while to realize that people are very complex and things just don’t get solved easily,” Hermione said with a calm tone.

“You think so?” Asked Harry now more comfortable with his friend.

“Yes…Context matters, well, as long as it doesn’t revolve around a life or death situation, we have to take things into context, I think that’s important,” Hermione said with a weak smile.

“You’ve become wiser Hermione,” Harry was surprised by his friend’s attitude.

“Well…I’ve been dealing with lots of people in the ministry who despite the fact I tell them that I don’t care about their lives, that doesn't stop them from telling me about it and I can't help but get angry when their problems could’ve been easily solved, but that changed over time because I became more interested in the drama of people’s lives…You can learn a lot, you can also avoid making mistakes by learning from other people,” Hermione couldn’t help but giggle.

A lot of people say that you need to live your life and make mistakes to learn, but Hermione prefers to watch others struggle so she won't be in the same position in the future.

“That’s amazing…Sadly I think that method can’t work with me, after all, trouble always seems to find me,” Harry said with a weak smile.

Hermione couldn’t help but giggle, and soon, they decided to indulge in their food in complete silence, after all, they were getting close to finishing their food and the last thing they wanted was to occupy a table they weren’t going to continue using.

Later after the dinner…

Hermione and Harry were walking through the streets of Dagon Alley, neither Harry nor Hermione said anything, they were just enjoying the presence of the other while they were under the moonlight.

They were staring at each other for a few moments and then they were staring at the opposite way when they thought the other person was distracted, after all, they wanted to take a closer look at the person that was walking with them.

Neither of them knew where they were going but they were happy as long as they were together, and they were surprised the moment they arrived outside of Hermione’s department.

“Well, I guess this is my signal to get going,” Harry said before sighing, he truly didn’t want to leave.

Hermione was hesitating but in the end, she nodded at his words.

“Harry…I loved our date and I’m glad we did this when we were adults, after all, teenage relationships rarely last, so, I think it’s okay if we didn’t do anything back then…” Hermione was starting to get nervous.

“You’re right Hermione…Good night,” he said as he was about to leave but then, Hermione decided to run to catch him. “Hermione?” He asked with a surprised tone.

“Harry…Would you like to get inside my place?” She asked with a nervous tone.

Harry couldn’t believe what he was hearing, however, he tried to remain as calm as possible before nodding and accepting her proposal.
