It’s been hours since the first encounter with Andy and Tyshae’s producers, it was past midnight and they were still working, but most of all, Andy was working on the song that was going to get scrapped from the album, he was surprised they did that because the lyrics were incredible.

The lyrics were about self-improvement, to never give up and give your best, it was so motivational, now Andy was able to see why they asked him to do it, he heard the demos they made with those vocals and he realized that they couldn’t find the right balance create something with a dark atmosphere but catchy at the same time.

After he was proposed to work on one of her songs just for fun, Andy was given a very modern and powerful laptop, the thing had everything when it came to music production tools, he calculated that just by pure music software, there were at least five thousand dollars spent on this laptop, major labels were surely amazing.

“Andy…Andy…Andy!” The young man who was completely focused on working with headphones was suddenly startled.

“Oh, hey Tyshae,” the younger man said with a curious expression, he was clearly tired but he didn’t seem eager to stop.

“Hey Andy…How’s the song going?” Asked the older woman curious to see what he had made during this time.

“I think it’s good, I already finished the prototype but I still need to clear the mix,” Andy said with a calm tone.

“Really? How did you finish that fast?” Asked the older woman with a raised brow.

She and her team have been going for hours and she felt like they’ve hardly done so much.

“Well, the moment I heard the vocals I imagined the structure and got to work on it, and then the rest of the things appeared, this is my first time doing a rap beat but I was imagining that I didn’t need to do too much because the main focus in this type of music is the vocals,” Andy explained as if he were a very experimented producer.

“I think we should listen to what he did…I can’t imagine him making something good in the span of a few hours but it doesn’t hurt to listen to it,” the bald producer said not believing that Andy could do something interesting in such a short period.

“Yeah, it could be good to rest a little…It’s not good to listen to the same time for so many hours straight,” Jeremy said with a calm tone.

“Yes, let’s see what this young man made,” Peter said this time, he was the short one.

Andy hesitated a little, he was confident about his music but they were right, it hadn’t been too long since he started working on it and he was alone, he was a little worried about their criticisms but on the other hand if he wanted to work in this industry, he needed to overcome things like this.

“Please?” Asked Tyshae with a raised brow.

“Fine…I’ll do it,” Andy said with a weak smile.

He didn’t hesitate for too long and just pressed the play button, at first the song started with a strong dark bass, and soon it was accompanied by a little melody, and the vocals and the beat started, it seemed like he was throwing everything at the start.

But he was adding more elements little by little, he added more and more little arpeggios but those were at a low volume, at some point he added a piano too and it sounded very dark, at the end of the song he added a bit of orchestral elements and choirs and if the thing was already dark it became darker the moment he added those elements.

“Well…What do you think about this? Like I said It’s been a few hours only…” Andy tried to sound as humble as possible.

“Wow,” Tyshae said completely shocked.

The last thing she expected when she brought this young man was for him to fix the problem they were facing with that song and it was the fact that they had no idea what to use to get the sound Tyshae had in mind, she was surprised that Andy managed to achieve something that sounded the closes possible to the way she thought about when she created the song.

“I’m sorry if it sounded a bit similar to the rejected demos but I grabbed some elements there and I tried to fix some of the problems I encountered there,” Andy tried to apologize but he was stopped.

“No…This is amazing Andy, are you sure you grabbed things from the previous demos?” Asked the older woman still awed by what she heard.

“Well, I guess we had our fun but let’s continue with this,” Paul wasn’t amused.

“Wait, guys…I decided to release that song but I don’t know what’s the process to acquire it considering Andy is not under contract with us,” Tyshae was getting worried.

“Yes, it was a good song but I don’t think it’s worth it to keep his version…Especially after what he did with Corey Matthews,” Paul said with a venomous tone.

“What do you mean by that?” Asked Pete a bit confused.

“Yes, what are you talking about Paul?” Jeremy felt that his colleague wasn’t making any sense.

“Guys I’m surprised you didn’t pay attention during the Matthews trial…This is the guy he sued but in the end, for some reason, this guy turned out to be innocent, and not only that, it seems like gained a few millions from the settlement,” Paul couldn’t help but mock the young man.

Andy had a stoic expression, he was hoping he wouldn't deal with people who praised him during the trial, but Paul seemed well-informed.

“So…Do you think I’m going to try to sue Tyshae just to get more money?” Asked Andy with a raised brow.

“Well…Yes, honestly it feels like that, I’m not going to lie to you, you don’t seem very trustworthy,” the older producer was starting to get on Andy’s nerves but he decided to not do nor say anything.

“You can use the song if you want to, it’s not the best of my works but if you think it’s worth it you should use it, I will never be mad at you Tyshae, I admire you for fuck’s sake, I don’t need money,” Andy said with an annoyed tone.

“No, that song has already been discarded and I think it should be kept that way,” Paul was getting more and more enraged as seconds went by.

It seems like he was showing his true colors, the man wasn’t interested in the legality or integrity of the situation, he just wanted Andy out of this project even though the main artist wanted him to be there.

“I have a better solution,” Jeremy said before gaining the attention of everyone in the room. “Why don’t you hire him, Paul? We can do this in the legal way and no one has to worry…If you’re concerned about hiring new people I think you should see it differently...It's like outsourcing, that song needs to be in the album, I don’t think Tyshae will be happy if we don’t publish it,” Jeremy said with a calm tone.

Andy couldn’t help but smile at the black man’s approach of the situation, he was good, and now, everything depended on Paul’s decision, still, Andy was doubting a little, the man was so angry at him.

“Fine, let’s do it in that way…But you’re only going to get hired for one project and nothing else…My brother is going to kill me,” Paul said before sighing.

Andy was a bit confused but he was happy he was going to work to produce the album of an artist that he truly admired.
