Daphne's plan #5

Hey guys, I'm sorry for the delay, there was a thunderstorm last night that left me without electrical energy and it just got back a few minutes ago.

Chapter #5: The Halloween party

- So the day finally came, uh? – Asked Daphne as she approached her sister in the common room of Slytherin, it was around the twilight hour and Astoria was sitting on the couch, she was thoughtful for the moment.

Daphne was using a white dress but she wasn’t wearing shoes, was surprised to see that her sister hadn’t reacted to her presence.

- Hey Tori… What’s wrong? – Said Daphne trying to get her younger sister’s attention but the younger girl was still in her place.

Astoria was using mini black shorts and a red blouse, seeing the way her sister was acting, an idea came to Daphne's head, seeing that they were alone, she decided to do something she always did when they were younger to catch her attention.

Daphne got on her feet and walked behind the couch on which Astoria was sitting, she decided to embrace her sister from behind, but still, Astoria didn’t react to her sister’s touch, she was still thinking about something that was bothering her.

- You’re hard to convince uh? Let’s see how much you can resist – Daphne said while smirking.

Daphne then, started to whisper some lewd things in her younger sister’s ear but the words seemed to not affect the younger girl, but Daphne wasn’t giving up yet, she had to use the last trick she had under her sleeve, she captured Astoria’s ear with her lips, she was biting it and finally, Daphne got her sister’s attention.

Astoria yelped as she felt her older sister biting her ear, but that wasn’t all, Daphne didn’t stop herself from moving her tongue to the back of her neck, she started to kiss Astoria’s neck slowly, with care and patience.

- Okay okay I surrender, you have my attention, but please… Don’t… Not here at least, someone might catch us and report us! – Astoria said and Daphne continued doing it for a few seconds.

But it didn’t last too much, Daphne was satisfied that she finally had her younger sister’s attention once again, so, she stopped kissing her neck and moved back to sit with her younger sister.

- Why did you do that? – Asked Astoria completely surprised by her older sister's behavior, Daphne just shrugged her shoulders.

- I wanted to catch your attention… That’s all, you seemed

troubled… I wanted to know what was wrong – Daphne said before sitting beside her sister.

Astoria was surprised, as usual, her sister was too perceptive, rarely things escaped from her, the younger girl couldn’t hide it anymore, she couldn’t hide what she was feeling, she sighed before she looked directly at Daphne’s eyes.

- It’s just that… I feel nervous you know? – Daphne nodded at her.

- Why? – Daphne wasn’t getting what her sister meant.

- I mean… You know, after that talk we had with mom I’m feeling nervous – Daphne suddenly realized what her sister meant, she nodded at her – I know that we have to be more… Obvious in our attacks but… Doing it like this sounds too risky and weird for me – Astoria confessed and Daphne remained thoughtful.

It’s true, they have been exchanging letters with their mother and the last one was kind of weird, but Daphne couldn’t blame her, her mother was getting impatient and she was feeling the same.

The thing here is that they were close to November, and Daphne feels as if they hadn’t advanced enough with Harry, their relationship has been the same for a few months since they started talking regularly back then when he defended them from Malfoy.

Over the curse of the weeks and months, they spent more time together, as they were from the same year, they shared some classes and they even were partners during the classes they shared, but that wasn’t all, seeing that both Astoria and she had problems with defense against the dark arts he offered them help.

They heard the rumor about Dumbledore’s army from the fifth year, and it seems like Harry was an excellent teacher as many pointed out, even people from other houses, and he was no exception with them, he taught them well, his methods were excellent, Daphne never had problems with defense against dark arts but it was because the spells in the prior years weren’t as complex as the ones they’re seeing in this year.

Add to that the fact that most of the time, the class is about practiced rather than a combination of theory and practice like in previous years had put Daphne at risk of failing the first periods, but thankfully, that didn’t happen thanks to Harry.

Astoria was seeing progress too, she used to hate that class, but once Harry started to teach her, she saw the class in a different light now that she realized that she was capable of making those complex and amazing spells, even Daphne was proud of her, she advanced greatly and surprised the teachers who saw her as useless in the subject.

So, that’s how their relationship has developed with Harry, you could say that they are friends, but Daphne isn’t satisfied with that status, she wants more and her sister too, she was sure of that, but they couldn’t find a way to deepen their bond with him until they received a letter from her mother who wanted to see them, and so, they reunited with her earlier, her mother saw this day as the perfect chance for them to strike.

Tonight was the Halloween party, a party that only seventh-year students can attend, some muggle-born students that decided to cut their studies last year due to the control of the death eaters wanted to incorporate this celebration into Hogwarts, they talked with the headmaster and she didn’t see any problem with that to everyone’s surprise.

It’s going to be a party with costumes and all that stuff, there’s also going to be some things just for adults, like beverages but the Greengrass sisters aren’t too interested in the party, it’s more the fact that they will spend time with Harry outside of their classes and the tutoring lessons, this could be a great opportunity for them to surprise him with their outfits, but still, Astoria seemed a little hesitant about that.

- You still feel insecure that you won’t look good right? – Asked Daphne before looking directly at her younger sister’s eyes.

Astoria looked at her for a few seconds before she nodded, her sister really knew her, she knew very well when something’s wrong with her.

- Don’t worry… You will look fantastic – Daphne tried to make her feel better but that was easier to say it than do it.

Astoria was still skeptical about it, but she couldn’t find in herself to tell her sister to stop, she needed to hear more of those words to find a little confidence in what they were about to do.

- But… - Astoria was about to argue but her older sister placed a finger on her lips to shut her.

- Don’t think about that Tori… You’ll only torture yourself if you think too much about what others will think about you… In other circumstances, I would have done anything to convince you to change your mind… But we don’t have time, we have no time for failure here, this might the only chance that will get to reach our goal – Daphne said with a serious expression.

Astoria was surprised to hear those words, but she knew that her older sister was right, they didn’t have time to waste on stuff like that, the time was passing and their progress with Harry hasn’t changed, they needed to step up on their game and change their strategies.

- We have to take advantage of any opportunity we have to surprise him – Daphne said with a soft smile as she caressed her younger sister’s cheek.

Astoria nodded, but the insecurities were still inside her, there’s a reason for her to feel like that, she has always felt like she was the unwanted child, it seems like their father wanted a boy after Daphne, but instead, they got her, and the fact that the only one they wanted to prepare for her to be the next head of the house was Daphne didn’t change the way she felt about herself.

That’s why Astoria has grown up with low self-esteem, she has been working on it in the last years but that isn’t as easy as overcome as conjuring a spell, it takes a lot of time, and sometimes, it doesn’t even disappear you just manage to hide it better.

- Come on… Let’s get ready… The party is in less than two hours – Daphne took her younger sister’s hand as she smiled at her.

Astoria didn’t why but every time she sees the hopeful smile of her older sister, that makes her feel better, her older sister rarely smiles, so, when she does you know that it’s not a fake smile or something like that, she’s smiling genuinely.

Astoria nodded before she took her older sister’s hand and walked with her directly to their dorms, they had a lot of work to do. As for Harry well, right now he was also wondering about the party too he was going to attend, he had just finished homework that he had assigned for Monday (Today was Saturday), he was packing his books back in their place when he was suddenly approached by Hermione.

- Hey Hermione, are you ready for the party? – Asked Harry with a soft smile and his friend nodded.

- You seem cheerful about it – Hermione told him and he just rolled his eyes.

- There you go once again… You’re about to suggest something weird right? – Asked Harry before he sighed and Hermione just laughed.

- You know me… What would my life be if I don’t suggest you something weird every day? – Hermione said in a snarky way.

- Just tell me what’s on your mind… It gets annoying sometimes when you use your “know it all” tone, you know? – Harry rolled his eyes and Hermione just laughed at his words.

- Okay okay… I just want you to think about this… What are you going to do once you get to the party? – Hermione was curious but right now she had a serious expression.

Harry was confused.

- What do you mean? Have fun I guess – Harry said casually.

- You know what I mean… It’s about Daphne and Astoria and their feelings – Hermione said and Harry was confused but before he could say anything she stopped him – Come on Harry, you’re smarter than Ron, you can be this clueless… They’re both in love with you obviously – Hermione told him getting desperate by her friend’s attitude, he was a little slow regarding the female heart.

Harry was surprised to hear that he couldn’t believe that his friend could say something like that.

- You’re crazy – Harry said before getting ready to get into his room – I’m sorry… I need to get ready for the party… I’ll see you there! – Harry did his best to get away from her before she gave him another warning.

- You’re lying to yourself Harry, don’t run away from your feelings! – Hermione screamed as Harry got inside the boys' dorm.

Harry sighed with clear comfort as he was now in a safe zone free from Hermione and her weird ideas, he focused on getting his costume ready, he would worry about Hermione later.

And then, the hour finally came, Ron wanted to go together with Hermione so, they both decided to go before Harry who was going to wait for the sisters outside Slytherin’s common room, the costume that Harry choose was something ironic for him, he was wearing a black cloak over a black suit that made him look fancy, but the difference here is that he was also carrying a scythe, trying to look like some kind of humanized version of the popular depiction of the“death”

It was kind of curious for Harry as death has been too close for him, he hopes that he doesn’t offend that figure that hasn't taken his soul yet even after many times he was close to dying, Harry was too focused on his thoughts when suddenly, the door opened and what he saw surprised him.

Daphne and Astoria were in front of him and that wasn’t all, they looked amazing in what they were wearing, Daphne was dressed in a comfy white dress that reached her knees but on the bust size, it showed some cleavage, thanks to magic, she managed to cast a golden halo over her head, Harry gulped, she looked great and confident.

As for Astoria, she was a little embarrassed, she was wearing a dress just like her sister’s one but the one she was wearing was red, also, she was wearing some utility horns and thanks to magic she managed to cast a tail that moved according to Astoria’s wishes, but the tail didn’t move too much.

- I hope we didn’t make you wait for too long – Daphne said interrupting Harry’s thoughts.

- Uh… No, not all, I’ve arrived in less than a minute here – Harry said – Shall we get going? – Asked the green-eyed man and they nodded.

- Oh… Heaven, hell, and death, the three powers… Everyone will think that we planned our theme – Daphne laughed – Let’s get going! – She grabbed one of Harry’s arms and he was surprised.

Both of them were blushing and smiling at each other until they realized that Astoria hadn’t moved.

- Come on Tori… Let’s go – Daphne encouraged her and even if she felt a little insecure, she nodded and grabbed Harry’s other arm.

Sensing tension from Astoria, Harry decided to say something.

- You girls look amazing tonight... Seriously, those outfits look great on you! – Harry said without stuttering, he was surprised by that.

- Thank you – Both sisters said at the same time with heavy blushes on their faces.

Harry nodded at them and they decided to get to the place where the party was going to be held, this party was organized by the school committee and they decided to do the party in the room of requirements, they had everything they needed there.

Harry and the girls were stunned to see that the decorations were all animated, there were some evil pumpkins on fire flying everywhere, some skulls laughing at everyone, there were even fake clouds with thunders.

And there was a band playing.

- It seems like we got on time – Harry said and both sisters smiled, they felt as if all the tensions had disappeared as the noise of the band that was playing and the music being contagious helped them to get more confident with each other.

Harry walked with the sisters and joined the rest of the crowd who were jumping and screaming at the sounds the band was making, it was impossible not to join with the rest of the students to celebrate even the proper Greengrass sisters joined them.

This was the first time both sisters experienced something like this, Harry knew that this party had a lot of muggle influence, it seems like someone had been watching tons of college party movies during the summer and wanted to incorporate them in the school.

But still, he didn’t mind at all, he was having a lot of fun, he was also happy to see Daphne and Astoria having fun, on the other side of the crowd, his friend Ron was kissing Hermione, both were dressed as vampires, he just smirked at them, they just needed an excuse to do that.

That display of emotions caught Daphne off guard, she was staring at the couple for a few seconds, she watched them with interest, and suddenly she remembered the conversation she had with her mother earlier at Hogsmeade.

- You need to act now Daphne – Her mother’s words echoed in her head before she moved in front of Harry.

Harry was surprised to see Daphne so close to him and with a serious expression, but that was the last thing he had to worry about, the older sister suddenly took his cheeks and kissed him, that was the last thing he expected her to do.
