Rick bullying Morty was basically half his personality, so when Morty actually stood up for himself, we had all the more respect for him. Now Rick's changed, he's making us respect him more, changing the dynamic of the show. It's the sneakiest psychology trick he's done, the Petty bastard

Not gonna lie, up until the end of the episode I was suspicious if Rick was trying to pull something but he genuinely wanted to be more supportive. Like Morty I didnt trust it because that's not something Rick usually does but its awesome character developement I never knew I needed

I love Rick's development this season. Characters need to grow and change to remain interesting. Especially characters who are appealing assholes. Without improvement they'll eventually become just assholes, like the most annoying, toxic fanboys who throw temper tantrums in mcdonalds screaming "pickle rick."

I like this character development. Rick has started to come to terms with the trauma of losing his original family. I think he truly fears losing his new family either through his own actions or his enemies' plans.

I love classic Rick, but how stale will a story get without development? Maintaining a plot with no course correction on a journey so long is very stagnating.

It was interesting to see, but I hope this doesn't last and there will be huge consequences/pay-off to this development. Either next episode or next season.

I feel like we have seen a lot of classic Rick already, so it is nice to see something new AKA genuinely nice Rick.

Character change is always eventually necessary. If you keep the status quo for too long, the show will stagnate.
