House of the Dragon 1x1 - Poll!

I'm in the middle. I absolutely loved Game of Thrones with the exception of the last 3 episodes. The Battle of Winterfell was fantastic but I didn't like what they did with Daenerys at the end. Also, I wanted more answers around the Night King and the white walkers but that just abruptly ended. But I loved almost everything else in the entire series. I really hope this series grabs me and builds in the mythology and makes up for some of the final shortcomings of GoT.

I'm definitely excited! I always saw the problem with GoT being that the main theme of the story was that the politics distracted from the battles for the fate of the world, but the writers were far more interested in showing the politics side of things more than the fantasy side. Since this story is a very political and family-focused story, as well as the story starts out embracing this fantasy side, I trust that the writers are sticking to their strengths.

I'm excited, mainly because David and Dan aren't involved and George is...plus I'm hoping the success of this leads to a show about the Blackfyre Rebellions.

Most of my investment in this world was smothered with the GOT ending. I used to know so much GOT law off the top of my head, but now I have to rack my brain for house names, characters, etc. However, I'm already very in on this show, and I'm excited to get into that political drama that early GOT was so good at!

Less reluctant, more hesitant. The sour note GOT ended on didn't engender confidence in this show, and while I enjoy some characters, specifically Viserys, Otto, Daemon and Alicent, everything else is either bland and uninteresting, or abrasive and unlikable. Nothing seriously off-putting, also nothing worth sticking around for; but, that's better than I was expecting, hopefully, it's just the new writers and production crew struggling with their first outing, and episode 2 onwards can deliver the quality performances and characters that the early seasons of GOT did.

Reluctant. Was never a fan of Targaryeans in general but I'm a massive fan of the Dunk and Egg novellas. Love that time period for Targaryeans and the GoT repercussions but I get the desire to separate the new series. Just hard to find a family/hero to root for. Where's Jester Mushroom? #teamMushroom.

I didn't feel anything for it . Wasn't excited or dissapointed. There are so many shows right now coming. I'm just more eager for other shows and this was way farther down my list. I do hope it does well so maybe some day get Roberts Rebellion Show or Movie or the Fallow through with the John Snow rumored sequel.

This show has potential, and I’m already engrossed in the world! I’m back baby! However them using the dream of basically winter is coming just cements my disappointment of how it was handled in season 8. It’s coming back to an ex that fucked up but the ride was amazing so I’m willing to give them another try, but They have a hill to climb.
