They looked like a couple to me. I don't know why you think they "refused" to show it. With characters like Larry, Danny the Street, and even the young detective this season, they aren't really afraid to have gay characters. I mean, it's 2 dudes that have been with each other for decades and now both are retired living together in Boca Raton. What were you expecting? A giant arrow on screen with flashing lights that said "Gay Couple" pointed right at them? lol
