I just say walker

Caio Cardoso

Aw come on you know your fans are millennials and under its obviously. A T A T

God Enel

A-T-A-T is the proper way of saying it, but I heard someone say @@ so i started saying it as a joke and now I can't stop

Kieran Hoare

A-T-A-T A-T-T-E A-T-S-T A-T-D-P L-A-A-T E-T-C

Ethaya

OG fans

Am I the only one who is curious about the story behind Calvin saying that "I'm definitely on that list, the DOD showed up"?

Sabotower

Letters or Words hmmm A-T-S-T or Atsst R-2-D-2 or Ratoodatoo C-3-P-O or Cathreepo B-B-8 or Bebate

Gazman

I mean what about ATSTs then if you say "at at", what do y'all absolute lampshades call them? at st's ?!

HeiwaTori

Do I look like some old fuckin man

BACON LOVER

I've seen pretty much nothing even tangentially related to starwars, but pronouncing it out instead of spelling it out feels like it could cause so much confusion. The words could be confused with something getting A TAT for example, depending on how you end up enunciating certain syllables. Spelling it out ensures there's no confusion.

Of course you say the letters of it was the other way how would you say AT ST you wouldn’t say @st

Prince of Za Waurdo Over Salmon

I use both for sure... Its something that for some reason I never say it the same everytime, like ill say a t a t, and then the next time I say at at, although EVERY time I read it, I read it as AT AT

Aiden Karst Daugherty

I use both

thespiderman360

Im an OG star wars fans, AT-AT (say the words) is how we said it, I know we will lose in the poll bc u millennials are changing everything from my childhood already. fyi im a genx-er not baby boomer, now u can go back & forget we exist lol

Lewis SpursFan

I have, in all honesty, done both

TwistedMagoo

It's just a convenient way of saying it faster. AT-AT

Probably the best argument honestly haha. I'm not too versed in Star Wars, but can't think of anything that contradicts this template

Aura Y

How would you pronounce R2D2 or C3PO then?

In my opinion, A-T-A-T just rolls off the tongue more than At-At. So I'm gonna go with A-T-A-T.

MarkIsDaBoss

While I know A-T, A-T is technically the proper way to pronounce it, I usually go with At-At because it's more fun to say.

John Wedig

Much like with the creator of GIF chiming in to announce that it's pronounced "JIF", nobody cares. AT-AT should be pronounced similarly to how you'd pronounce AT-ST.

Sorin

it doesn’t matter, and it’s both in the canon anyways

Matthew Cronin

I think saying "at-at" at a word is the equivalent of putting milk in before cereal.

The Pebble

plus it fits better with AT-ST to say AT-AT (the letters)

KuroOberon

i used to call them at-ats as a kid cos my dad and step-dad did... but over time for whatever reason i ended up switching to A-T-A-T

KuroOberon

I call them AT-ATs but this one I'd have to call a RAT-RAT, because of course Rick would have to take credit for them and name them after himself.

Zach Hilts

Star wars is everywhere. It can not be stopped

ChiefChill

I pronounce it "That Star Wars vehicle"

Kevin Bartelen

There was a giant French robot, a spider president, and robotic Indians and pilgrims. So the poll led to a on how to pronounce a Star Wars reference your on way?

Matthew’s First Name

I'm amazed Rick & Morty doesn't take more jabs at the Star Wars fanbase.

Joel

unpopular opinion: it’s both. you say it however you want to say it

Deadpool

Sam Witwer says "AT, AT" so there's that. XD

Jerick E

Boom.... it gets the point across. In an IRL situation, using acronyms or even shorter terminology is just faster and saves time. MilPDS, I can say "mill-pee-dee-ess" or simply "Mill-peeds." CBRNE attack, I can say "see-bee-arr-ehn-e Ah-tak" or do I just say "see-burn "ah-tak"?? Also, Sam Witwer says "AT, AT" so there's that. XD

Jerick E

You're a republic solider entrenched on the front lines of the Hoth tundra. Over the horizon, 1,000 tons of steel in the form of a Robotic Mammoth peeks it's head at your line. You've got seconds to relay to your squad what's about to happen. Do you yell "A-T-A-T", wasting precious milliseconds you could be using ducking in cover? Or do you do the right thing, and yell "AtAt", saving time and lives? Don't die for initialization.

MikeWest

Marvel's Agents of Ess Aych Eye Eee Ell Dee.

Rufus May

Not always, for example NASA or RADAR. The official pronunciation is "at at".

Rufus May

"The official pronunciation for AT-AT is the phonetic one, as in it rhymes with hat hat.” - Lucasfilm PR 2010 Moving on.

KevinFromNewYork

There's a line in Venture Brothers where a character calls it an "at at" and it always bugged me immensely. They're initials, you say them separately.

Pinkandahalf

I’m really behind on the R&M reactions, but I am qualified to answer this poll out of context! it’s gotta be A-T-A-T. LAATs aren’t “latts” AT-TEs aren’t “atties” AT-STs aren’t “at-sits” Ultimately I’m sure it’s canonically down to regional dialect differences like Lando saying “Hann” instead of “Hahn”

I won't judge you if you are a digeberat and say at at jk but I've always said A-T A-T just feels right

Kaleb A. Diaz

A-T A-T that is canon so there

spencer

Who the fuck says AT AT hahahahahahahahahah

Kevin Campos

If you say at at you worship the devil!!!!! Just kidding, but I've always said A-T A-T

Josh Bornman

In the spanish dub they called them AT, AT. So I grew calling them that way.

Yil

It has to be A-T A-T. For the ATST(scout transport) nobody logical would say At Sst

For the AT-AT I’ve always heard “at” “at”. But with AT-ST, it’s been A-T S-T. Seems odd now that I think about it. My Star Wars is ruined! /s

SonOfDarkHelmet

This is a tough one since I regularly find myself doing both, but I also came into the star wars Fandom late and didn't grow up with it.

TrixieTurner

I used to say A-T-A-T, but changed once I learned the proper enunciation. Once I hear the corrected way of saying something, I can’t go back.

John M

A-T, A-T The one true way. Jk

William. C

Ive just always said A-T, A-T but idk what is right or not lmao

MOB12
