Star Wars: The Bad Batch 1x12 - Poll!

Do you think the closing moments with Crosshair is hinting that he is doubting his loyalty to The Empire?

I think Crosshair just got distracted because he found Howzer hot like everyone else

I believe his look is for the fact he finally gets go all out after the Bad Batch for the first time since they split on Kamino. I’m also surprise you guys are so willing to believe a vice admiral of the empire about Orn Free Taa’s fate without physical evidence.

Joseph McNerny

I think that Hawser speech may have had some impact on him. But not sure, that the look he gave was a doubt on his loyalty. P.S : any idea on WHY Hunter or Echo didn't speak to Hawser about the chip ?

I think Crosshair has resolved himself to the fact that he must be the one that ends Squad 99. I also think the senator is dead and Rampart is just keeping appearances up that he is "alive" until they use his death for political gain.

Nate Terry

The facial expressions he gave were deffo ones of doubt. Unless you’re a maniac with a seething hatred for your target, you wouldn’t be doing what Crosshair was

Daisy Grace

I got the complete opposite from that last scene actually. I almost thought he was about to smirk just at the thought of catching the BB. I don't think Crosshair survives the season. I still think he gets redemption, but he'll have to sacrifice himself in the process.

Ram

Crosshair has felt really passionate about getting TBB, since it's very personal to him, he likely won't ever defect unless he gets his chip out successfully.

Adam A

I think he just misses his brothers and hates that they won’t side with the empire

I agree. Well, said.

Angel Groves

ive gotta say no, it feels like too much of a change compared to when he was trying to kill them on bracca, where he had no problems with the idea of killing the bad batch at all

KuroOberon

I want to believe that he was, but just don't think he's got that in him - it's not his character. Maybe trying to figure out why others were breaking the chip's control?

Coeus

I definitely got the same feeling from his look that there was some conflict. Like just a quiet subtle thing to me, along with just the way they lingered on him and when he watch the shuttle fly away and when he looked back at Howzer. Felt like there was something there to me.

Sarah Eliza B

I doubt it, but the chip may have an expiration time.

While I believe the true Crosshair is in there somewhere I think in that moment he was determined to hunt down and find his brothers

Christian Bolda

I think he is doubting himself whether or not he is capable of hunting The BB down

Dip602

There's some conflict there. First, Rampart berates him for his failure in front of Howser. Then he chooses not to shoot Howser for being a traitor AND lets the shuttle escape! Certainly very uncharacteristic of him to this point. But hey, a dead man survived a headshot so what do I know! LOL

I think the look Cross-hair gave was his self-conscious realisation from what Hunter had told him previously, but I don't think this changes the effectiveness of the chip and he could possibly see this as a new strategy to reach the Bad Batch and complete his orders by eliminating them hence why he felt he had to pursue them alone. ( Tricking them by pulling on their heart strings and BAM, you been bam-boozled )

Joey

I think that Crosshair believes he is too deep. From his perspective, what was it all for if he is going to turn traitor. So, despite the quality of the chip over time, I don't think he'll return to the Bad Batch

I say no he is loyal to the empire but is the empire loyal to keep him around

spencer

I think part of his subconscious is telling him it's wrong- I don't care how much mind control he has, part of him must feel weird hunting down his once close friends, even if he is trying to pretend it isn't there nagging at him

Wildstar

I'm thinking that the chips are losing effectiveness. Like they exerted their power for their one function, but their bodies are starting to resist it over time. It may be one of the reasons that Tarkin wanted to replace them, since the 'obedience' he was promised might not be as thorough as the Kamino's claim. Now the clones might be recalling the ideals they were fighting for and are starting to notice the discrepancies in what they're doing now like Howser.

He shot that other ship out of the sky from further away in the previous episode but somehow couldn't hit the ship with the batch in it which was closer and moving slower in this one. I think there is more to it and I think he cares about his brothers.

Titan Frenchies

I haven’t watched the episode yet or looked at the question, but I’m a Yes Man so whatever it is Yes👍🏾

This feels like a trick question since you can debate if he had any loyalty to the empire to begin with. But I'm going to say no, whatever is going on with Crosshair I think he will keep serving the empire until he gets what he wants. What that is i can only speculate

I have a feeling that Crosshair will be used for further experiments, maybe he will be the first phase 0 dark trooper, And as i think about it...what if...that is the current plan. Using the older clones as bases for phase 0 dark troopers.

Kevin

In episode 3 of the bad batch. Vice Admiral Rampart talks about why they want to enlist a new army instead of the clones. He says the loyalty of those who willingly enlist is valueable. Their plan is to have clones like crosshair train the troops. Seemed like you guys were wondering why they wanted to replace the clones:) luv the reactions. keep it up

DonJimmy

I think he isn't loyal to the empire, per se. I think his chip doesn't work anymore, but it has changed his perspective for good, and hates his brothers from clone force 99

Marc Post

The camera seemed to linger in a way that made me think he's conflicted. If the chips are wearing off in the regs, maybe the same is true for crosshair.

With the damage to the side of his head that the chip is on, I thinking that it can no longer be removed.

Miz Gracie

He'll remain 100 %loyal until his chip is removed. I think he's angry that the people around him are bona fide IDIOTS Lol

I want them to remove the chip not so he can be good, but mostly to see what his mindset really is.

Joel

I hope Crosshair remains loyal to the Empire even if the Bad Batch removes his chip. Would be a more interesting storyline.

Trevor Darnell

He seems pretty all in on the Empire. I don't think so.

Jeanette C

I think there's going to be a twist and Crosshair has already had his chip removed and he's still loyal to the Empire.

Yes, but not enough to override the chip.

Sam K

Nothing else in the episode is hinting towards that, so I say no

SpeedyCat19

Considering how easily he killed civilians with Saw when others were hesitating.

Doby Greg

Only thing he should be doubting is that haircut

hmm sort of. surely in the back of his mind he’s aware of what he’s doing and wants to break out of it, but since they emphasized the function of his inhibitor chip, there’s not much he can do :/

I believe so especially with the reveal that clones can now go against the empire after the chip has been activated

Hope so
