I agree he should have left no reason just felt right. Can't believe barry said impulse probably just a nod to the comics but how cool

DeusDeorum

I feel like this show has become a parody of itself

RoadRaf

Obviously Joe needs to start his own force - the birth of CW's : GIJOE! :D

Mick Stewart

I think it’s to let him become commissioner so he can be able to make some actual changes

Prince of Za Waurdo Over Salmon

Granted on one hand it may have been more useful if he stayed but I feel that would be out of character. Leaving on principle feels more in character for him.

Reece Hart

mmmm now with the costume aka no shirt, bartender frost is super hot. clothes do nothing for him

rickie woodson

F em! he's too good for them

rickie woodson

I like that he left, I would have liked it as more of a retirement but I get why he quit. I want him to go for a position were he can change the police force from the outside like a mayor or something

BigSteve Kasten

I'd love him stepping up and becoming mayor or something, like Lance did in Arrow. But if its another CW political thing that they always do, it would suck donkey dick.

C-Dubble

Really I'm kind of waiting to see what he does before passing judgment, maybe he runs for Mayor and then controls the Police.

Ryan Witalison

He should take a vacation and focus on raising the kid, relaxing, and not dying to a random Meta super event.

Crystal Squirrel

Things would've been better in his leadership, but I like that he left. Things were getting way too out of hand with Kramer, and I agree that he couldn't be a part of that. Plus, we get to see Joe not working at CCPD anymore, and I like this side of him. Where it's not Captain West, it's Joe West always looking out for his family.

MarkIsDaBoss

I wish he was still with the Police, however I can see his storyline changing now. Mayor, Governor, Private Military Leader (think's back to the Crows in Batwoman) actually ignore the last one.

Joel

It depends what the plan for the character is going forward. For Joe, it makes sense to stick to his principals and not stand by while they do this. However, I hope this means they've got a plan for his character to either become the mayor or to come back in some way to stop this in a future storyline. He was one of the only supporting characters that kept Barry tied to his CSI job and kept the actual "crime fighting" element present in the show, instead of just the big cosmic threats. As long as this leads somewhere for his character, then I think it makes sense.

ScarlettMi

He made the right decision leaving the force and now it is time for Mayor/Governor Joe West. He will have to be an higher official in order to stop the crazy Kramer chick from using the cure against metas.

he made the right call leaving there is not much he could of done no matter how much he can do even if he and the whole ccpd not follow orders they would of been replaced. Joe couldn’t convince kramer to stop the only thing he could of done is either convince the governor to stop or quit he chose the ladder.

spencer

He can still encouraged the use of taser and deescalation, and other procedures. Or just make sure they dont get a captain that is all about using cure as the first method. The policy exist but he supervize its enforcement.

Doby Greg

If he tries to become mayor I'd understand but if not i think he should've stayed and change things from the inside

Dip602

He could have changed things more as captain. He could have fought what he thought was right. But now he doesn't have that position he doesn't really have any power to change anything the way he wants.

Hunter R.

He had power to limit the overuse of the policy & his position give more weight if he take a puplic stance. He abandoned his precint instead of helping. They could have got a pro cure captain.

Doby Greg

he should of left because it shows he will stand up for what he believes in. and I feel like after this arc is over he will be back as the captain. because if we only get captain joe west for 1 and 1/2 seasons i’ll be a little disappointed

Deadpool

I agree he should have left, it opens his character to do something else, be something else. However, my worry is the actor will be underutilized and leave.

SonOfDarkHelmet

Stayed as captain but also this episode was a wholesome okay episode to end this god awful storyline, please do better with next chapter. We had two lackluster “villains” in a row, give me Bloodwork back at least he was a good Villain.

Victor Macphee

I think he was great as a cop and later Captain, but this frees him up to explore other things. And now we get to see more of him as an individual. Maybe he’ll run for Mayor or Governor?

John M

The police station is going down a path that joe can’t follow. The orders have come directly from the governor. He is powerless to stop it and instead of following orders he decided to be a man and leave.

Darth Kal-El (Cory Weston)

I think Joe would have been able to do more good if he stayed on the force. He was a great captain, his officers respected him and I think the majority would've sided with him against kraemer(spelling?) Showing that his methods work.

I just cant imagine where his story is gonna lead now that he is not the captain anymore

No as long as Kramer is there

Darth Kal-El (Cory Weston)

I agree if the governor himself is doing this then joe is powerless to do anything and would basically be a puppet

As Captain he could have kept things in check and inspire everyone in the prescient like he always did
