Batwoman 2x2 - Poll!

As the season progresses, will Jacob evolve into more of an antagonistic character?

I think he will become an ally mostly because I feel like that is a natural progression of his character, but it will take a long long time, maybe not even this season because I was waiting all last season for him to help batwoman at some point but every time it looked liked they were going to team up, something happens and Jacob tries to kill or capture her.

If Jacob is half as good of a man Quentin Lance was then he will be a great ally for Batwoman. I hope we get to see Lance again.

Dylan Allardice

I think he will slowly become less antagonistic towards Ryan. Eventually becoming an ally seeing this woman who has taken on the legacy of his daughter. Trying to make up for the way he was towards Kate when she was Batwoman.

I think it will take some time and I think he will initially be so angry at this girl replacing his daughter he will be antagonistic, but eventually his guilt from trying to kill Kate because he wasn’t willing to give Batwoman a chance and decide he has to change and be a Gordon to Ryan.

William Tanner

He’ll probably feel antagonistic towards her at first because seeing her don what used to be Kate’s identity would be a sore spot right now, like he’d think she has no right being Batwoman especially if in his mind she looks like she’s replacing Kate as Batwoman and as fathers go, there’s no replacing their daughter, in or out of the costume. Eventually though, after some death-defying incident where he gets saved by Ryan, he’ll give her the benefit of the doubt until maybe one day it’s Ryan who gets into trouble and he begrudgingly saves her but he dies in the process although at that point he’s coming to terms with the fact that Kate ain’t coming back and maybe Ryan isn’t that bad of a Batwoman after all. It’s DC formula, I think. 🤔

Aveya

This is how I think it’s gonna go down. As it is Kates replacement he’s not gonna be too happy with her at first, then he’ll be neutral after maybe she saved his life or something like that. After that, like he would’ve eventually done with Kate, he will come around to see Ryan for who she is as a person and be an ally. That’s kind of how these things tend to go. However long that takes though is anyone’s guess. (Unless he dies)

CJ

I feel like he’ll be neutral with spaced out moments of being a reluctant ally. He might not be purely antagonistic after learning Batwoman was Kate and reevaluating his treatment of her but his core issue was still vigilantism. Plus he might harbor resentment for someone taking on the mantle after Kate since he still thinks she’s alive somewhere.

Liv

i dont care enough about kane. he is super not needed in this show. we have pennyworth, bette, and sophie, that is enough ties to kate and more than enough crows so.......bye daddy bye

rickie woodson

I chose neutral, because FAMILY! Even if it's not his daughter, Batwoman truly is, kinda.

MarkIsDaBoss

He'll be an ally because of the guilt of how he treated Kate as Batwoman and this is her legacy. But it may take some time to come around.

Doby Greg

In terms of the poll, I think he'll be antagonist to neutral to eventually an ally before dying.

Neil Prospect

Not related to the poll, just want to say - I really enjoy the Ryan-Mary-Luke dynamic. They seem like a true team of equals. And they're all idealistic and young and goofy. I think I'm going to really like this team.

Neil Prospect

I say he won't like her for a while. Because I feel he thinks kate is alive and I kind of hope she is also. But I think he will feel that his daughter should be batwoman then later on like next season or longer he will accept her as batwoman.

Hunter R.

I say neutral where he may not team up with her or agree with her methods but will acknowledge the need of batwoman

spencer

He won’t like her but he won’t hate her, just like all good relationships

DC Fanboy

I see him being an opposing force/occasional ally, however I also see him dying somewhat redeeming himself in his daughter's eyes by the end of the season.
