Movie Reaction Poll #34 - Scary Edition!

So I hadn't watched Don't Breathe and thought it must be something special to be beating Descent (especially given Eric's fear).... but I just watched it... and don't understand why the hell it's got so many votes. I know everyone is free to feel differently, and can tolerate/accept different levels of plothole/stupidity in horror movies, but man I just thought that was awful.

I don't know how Hereditary hasn't been on either of these polls it's one of the best horrors in a while and would make for an awesome reaction with a lot to talk about in the discussion.

I recently watched the Evil Dead remake and thought it was really well made. Don't Breathe is by the same director and also stars Jane Levy so I'm excited to watch it.

Oh god The Descent was creepy as hell. I had to look Don't Breathe up and it has one of my favorite actresses in it. I need to check it out.

I voted for the Descent but if Don't Breathe wins then I'll be happy. If the crew is blind. The trailers gave away the initial twist. And my biggest problem with Don't Breathe is the other twist. And I agree, Rick won't like it. But Rick don't like much. Which is why I love it when he does.

Host would have been a good one. It was created during lockdown and takes place entirely through Zoom. It's on Shudder. And there's also a new Horror just released on Shudder called Scare Me starring Aya Cash (Stormfront from the Boys). Just some recommendations even to watch in your spare time.

It's a shame that this is the last poll for horror movies. I understand the schedule is full as is, but I feel like having a movie reaction once a week would really be beneficial. I find that sometimes with the bi-weekly reactions, I go sometimes a month without a movie reaction that I'm interested in watching. Also there are so many great movies they haven't seen that they simply won't get through for years at the bi-weekly rate. Hopefully one day the schedule opens up enough to allow this as a consideration.

Don't Breathe and Life are not horror movies. They are thriller and sci-fi. The Descent and The Babadook are both great and both horror. :) I went with The Descent as it's quite unique.

I saw The Descent in theatres, at 16. I honestly do not know of the other films I the poll, (haha) but I know there are aspects of this film which I still think about today and which make me claustrophobic. Ahhhh.

Really wish they'd put Annihilation (2018) on a list. It's not straight horror, more sci-fi horror, but some of the most disturbing scenes I've seen in recent memory.
