I love Rick, but I just can't agree with him here. Even when he points something out and I freeze frame it I still can't see it.

Agreed. Enjoyed this movie immensely for what it was, despite the overall look of it being cheap and over exposed. The sequel could have been used to shore up the flaws in this one, bring a maturity to the sillier fight scenes and a more consistent aesthetic to match what they obviously thought was a darker tone in story in Golden Circle. Instead, they went the other way. Sillier and even more over the top fight scenes, a gaudier and less consistent aesthetic, and more piled on (and bad) CGI to go with a story that was already inferior. There is such a thing as “too much of a good thing” and that’s what the sequel failed to see. It’s a shame since Vaughn did so well with first Class and Kick Ass and even Stardust.

I really like the movie but I never got fully on board with the overly stylistic fights. I would love it if it had John Wick or Russo bros-like type of fighting. But still that church scene is just fantastic

I don't love all of the aesthetics of this movie, but at least it's better than the sequel. I certainly enjoy it more now that I've seen how bad and extra-fake that it could look. I loathed the sequel, but this first one was fun and I'm on board with giving the prequel a chance if/when that ever comes out.

The CGI does get jenky sometimes especially when they slow it down. Eric says this jenky CGI is intentional but I don't think so. I think they were working with the budget they had.

I don't mind that Rick doesn't like the movie. But I have no idea what he means when he doesn't like it. I thought the effects were good for the budget. The action was great, the comedy was funny and it had some great writing.

Totally different kind of movie, but Taron Egerton (Eggsy) went on to win a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his portrayal of Elton John in Rocketman (2019) and it would be interesting to see your reaction to it. I have no idea what you guys would think of it because it is not your typical biopic and is very much a musical (which I happen to love, but I understand some don't). Taron was amazing in the role, though!

However it wasn’t an all in one. I’d say an iPhone is superior to a flip phone because I don’t have to carry a map, a calculator and all other manner of things. That doesn’t mean the iPhone has the best calculator but as a whole the iPhone is superior. The same applies for the kingsmen umbrella.

i've seen this movie 3 times and i NEVER noticed any bad sets or poor cgi even when you pointed out in this reaction i didnt see it. it all looks good to me
