While Abby tries to find a cure for Alec, she's haunted by her childhood friend's ghost who re-emerges from the swamp. Alec struggles to come to terms with his transformation with the help of a mysterious Phantom Stranger.

Abby took me out of the episode a bit. She literally has seen a reincarnated bug-man explode under swamp things touch, met swamp thing, has fought against sentient vines in the morgue but she can’t believe that the little girl is possessed by her dead friend even though all that proof was given to her. That’s just bad writing.
