Sorry for a long sentence. Also Morty going full Akira was great. Love you guys.

2020-06-02 08:54:01 +0000 UTCThe Vat of Acid episode Epitomises Rick and Morty. You think it is going to be an episode about one thing then it goes in a completely different direction. Plus this episode ended with the beginning Vat of Acid concept. It was a great bookend. Plus all the usual dark comedy, especially that montage. It was easily the best episode of the season.

While it's not the funniest or climatic episode of the season, the ending is probably one of the most tragic ones for Rick and provides a clear description of how his pettiness can lead to hilarious moments (Vat of Acid) and depressing ones.

2020-06-02 03:41:01 +0000 UTCThe Vat of Acid Episode was a very great concept with very good execution, but I can't help to think that the episode's potential was limited due to the show's 22 minute runtime. While the montage did a decent job at evoking a sympathetic response from the audience regarding Morty's newfound relationship and the events throughout it, I can only imagine how much more impactful Jerry using the remote would've been if we as an audience grew to know and care for Morty's girlfriend too. Meanwhile, this recent Star Mort episode gave me most of what I look for in the great Rick and Morty episodes: pop culture references, continuity, great punchlines, and profound endings. Therefore, I have to choose this finale.
