Steins;Gate #20 Reaction - Early Access!

Comments

Stop being Moeka haters already. Especially the manchild, Eric.

Johan Liebert

SERN also takes over the world in the Alpha Attractor Field, so there's that. It's not just about Mayuri.

Rakoon Shampoo

Cant hate on Piccolo man

Pulp

I wouldn't, they can barely remember stuff from a few weeks ago let alone months xD

Jack Mapstone

You guys should 100% record a re-reaction to episode 1

Alex Beltran

It's interesting that a lot of shining finger haters seem to hate her for killing Myuri and being socially awkward, but don't hate on the guy who manipulated tons of people and ordered her death in the first place.

SERN want to capture the people responsible for creating the time machine and kill all the others to cover it all up. They aren't the reason she keeps dying, they just kill her fairly often, remember the rope analogy that suzuha gave. That explained it. Strands near each other kind of have a gravity. Singularities that all the strands on the rope pass through, specific events. But, there are other ropes, further away, because of larger differences, with different singularities.

I’d be totally alright with them putting this series on hold till the stay at home order is over and Shane is back...probably just me though.

Jason Jeffory

I have a feeling they won’t be doing Stein; Gate 0 just yet and do it separate. Unless they really want the full depressing experience and decide to watch in order of occurrence lol

DAki

Thanks I actually never understood how the 1st Dmail was sent either.

DAki

I'd watch a re-reaction of EP1. Though it would work out best if done after EP22 ;)

Dasher

Nooooo. Remote reactions. Damn it virus!! Wish they could’ve finished it in a group and with Shane :/

Jason Jeffory

Ngl, I haven't seen this show in a while and I genuinely forgot who FB was.

Okabe sent the first D-Mail after he found Makise dead, and it was about how he found her dead in that building. He sent that to Daru, who's phone just happened to be hooked up to the Phone Wave at the time. So it got sent back in time, which SERN picked up because of their world wide surveillance (the D-Mail was evidence of time travel) so they got the rounders to close in on Okabe and his group to get the time machine they make due to Okabe realizing his text went back in time, which creates Suzuha future. His accidental D-Mail there is the reason time travel is invented and consequently why SERN takes over the world, so it's a huge event which can flip the world line from and Alpha to a Beta one. As for why Makise wasn't at that little science convention where she met Okabe and then died, you find out why later.

I’m not sure if you know this already, but if you want to get the full experience of steins gate there is a watch order that’s highly recommended. Doing it only by the steps 1 – 3 – 5 below is good enough however to experience the full story. (1) Stein’s Gate (Only episodes 1-22) (2) Stein’s Gate – Kyoukaimenjou no Missing Link (movie) (3) Stein’s Gate 0 (All episodes) (4) Stein’s Gate OVA (not necessary) (5) Stein’s Gate 23-25 (6) Stein’s Gate – Fuka Ryouiki no Deja vu (movie) (7) Stein’s Gate Soumei Eichi no Cognitive Computing (not necessary)

Again to keep Mayuri alive Kurisu Makise and Feyris father need to die that doesnt seem fair and not only that Mayuris dead would allow Ruka to stay as a girl, last time someone said "yeah but they are not heartless and sacrifice their friend" but they are exactly doing that by saving Mayuri not only are their sacrificing their friend Makise but also the father of another friend and the sex of a third friend

Guys just remember to watch the after credits/ end of credits for episode 22. There is a conversation that starts near the end of the credits and goes into an after credits scene. So you might miss some context/continuity to the after credits scene if you just skip the credits entirely.

Always loved this episode as it can get you if you’re so focused on the current situation you forget what has to come next... Also this episode is also one of the few times I’m happy an anime retconned what originally happened in the original source material. I won’t spoil what happens for those who eventually want to read the visual novel but I’m glad they didn’t animate that maybe nightmare inducing moment in the anime... although I feel they very slightly alluded to it still maybe being a thing in the episode

The first D-Mail is when he sends Daru a text to tell him that he found a dead Makise. Unbeknownst to Okabe, Daru's phone was hooked up to the microwave at the time because he was running tests on it, hence Okabe unwittingly sent the first D-Mail.

YYZHawk

Awwww, it's a shame Shane won't be in the reaction for the last bit. He was really loving this show. I hope he get's to watch it for himself when he's on his break. Wishing him well

The Sci-Fi Slut

I believe the first D-mail happens by mistake when Okabe sends Daru a msg while Daru is experimenting with the microwave on his own phone. The lotto is technically the second D-mail.
