While Maul is one of my favorite Star Wars characters, you can't beat Darth Vader for intimidation factor.

I've gotta say Vader. I didn't grow up with Star Wars. I watched the 1st 6 movies (spoiler free) right before Ep. 7 released when I was almost 20. The "aura" of Star Wars was still pretty fresh for me, so when Vader ignited his saber... it was an amazing, chilling moment, to say the least. Maul's was absolutely amazing too, though!

I don't really want to choose between both scenes because they are both great. Mauls was brutal and Vaders was intense. But for this poll I'll go with Vader, because of heavy breathing and holding the door, while slaughtering rebels. May the force be with you ... always.

Vader's is better be cause of the narrative. We want the rebels to succeed with minimal deaths. It also helps that their expressions are not hidden by helmets.

The reason vaders is better is cus Maul didnt have a saber Vaders scene was inspired straight from friday the 13th horror type stuff they said it was even more scary and brutal and what we got was the super dumbed down version lol so just imagine what it coulda looked like to start with

While I love the Maul scene, my vote has to go with Vader. I remember almost jumping out of my seat in the theater when I heard the iconic breathing and the red lightsaber light up the entire room. I was filled with fear and dread but also giddy anticipation. Also, we've had multiple examples of what Maul is capable of with modern special effects but Vader has very few, which makes his scene in the hallway feel much more special to me.

Vader's because like most firefight scenes in hallways in TCW the clones just firing and clearly missing. There is several shots of them shooting way past Mual while Vader's has him deflecting and guarding. Stakes are higher and more intense in that fight.

Maul, because he's unarmed, on his own, fighting battle hardened troopers. Vader was never going to have a problem with the rebel forces armed with a saber in a narrow corridor. It's still brilliant though, but Maul's is more impressive to me.

I think Darth Vaders hallway scene was better but jesus christ Maul is savage.

Maul's scene was great, but I'm O.T. and Vader's is the best hallway scene. It's a great addition to the O.T.

To be honest from a story perspective it would have made more sense for Ashoka to tell the Jedi Council about Anakin. It would then make more sense on why Mace refuses to take Anakin with him to face Palpatine. He senses Anakin is confused and worries about his interaction with Palpatine given Maul's vision

I gave Vader's the edge, but Maul's is a hair behind. Maul's is more creative since he doesn't have his lightsaber to shield him.

I like them equally for different reasons. Maul's is more brutal and creative, but Vader's is live action and more terrifying because it's shot like a horror scene and you can see the fear on the rebel's faces.

I love clone wars so much and that scene was awesome. But watching the vader scene for the first timen theatres was honestly the best Thing ever. This wasnt as climactic

Both scenes, on their own, are amazing. I would probably give the edge to the Vader scene, when judging just the scene, but as far as how it fits into the story I have never really liked the Vader scene. To me Rogue One is a story about smaller characters in the Star Wars galaxy, like Jyn and Orson, and how there struggles effect the galaxy as whole. The Vader scene did not really add much to that story and instead significantly overshadowed it with a grand Vader action sequence. It just felt very out of place and shoe horned in as a fan service. The maul scene on the other hand fits much better into the story of this episode ark, showing how a central character is dealing with the events of the story. So as a whole I would say liked the maul scene more.

Maul’s scene was great, but you cannot match the feeling of nostalgia when you see Vader, the most iconic cinematic villain, tear through rebels like Eric would a king size Reese’s!

This arc made me wish I hadn’t seen Rebels yet. Can you imagine how much more intense this would be if you didn’t know Ashoka and Mauls fate?

I preferred Maul's simply because he lacked a lightsaber and went, 'Okay time to kill the clones with their own ship'. He turned what should have been their home advantage into a weapon.

Maul's just like "oh boy here I go killing again!" As opposed to Vaders "You're already dead".

What I love about Vader's hallway sequence is how he uses his intimidation factor as a weapon, turning off his respirator so he can shock people, turning on his lightsaber at just the right moment- it affected the rebel's ability to fight, which is a cool way to show how Vader fights psychologically. Maul's intimidation feels more like a happy accident, because it's Maul being Maul.

Vader scene without a doubt nothing beats seeing Vader mow down Rebels. It's like an Order 66 scene we never got to see.

The Maul scene was awesome, but it pales in comparison to the Darth Vader scene at the end of Rogue One. It was such a good surprise and shot so well. Love both scenes though!

Maul, in my opinion not only has the best hallway scene but I think for me he might be my favourite villain in all of Star Wars. Just the complexity, charisma, and tenacity alone would put him top, but then he had to go and prove that despite them being metal, he has the biggest balls in the galaxy and strut down that hallway without a saber. What an incredible thing to be alive and witness clone wars. We could have been born in the dark ages. 😂

Darth Vader was actually blocking and deflecting most of the blasts, in Maul's scene the clones missed a lot, the plot armor was big with him.

Maul just coming around the corner blocking with a piece of metal was nothing compared to Vader, Ya Vader had a Lightsaber also but he pulled the guns away from the troopers and then killed them too.

Mauls was awesome, but nothing beats Vader putting a guy on the ceiling and casually gutting him without even the decency of looking at him

Maul’s was way more badass because he didn’t have a lightsaber and he was fighting clones not just random rebels.

Vader will always be the cooler bad@ss but he used a lightsaber mostly. Maul did some, could we say, Force Unleashed stuff. Using the plating to crush and dismember the clones. Vader just slashed and deflected.

Vader’s- Mauls scene was incredible and ruthless especially without a lightsaber, but Vader’s scene is one of my favoured star wars moments, the lighting, breathing and the saber turning on then slaughtering the rebels will be hard to top

Both are great, but Vader’s is far more iconic and impactful for the overall narrative of the saga. Although, Matt Murdock remains the king of hallway fights.

Vader's hallway scene will always leave a lasting impression on me as he ruthlessly demolishes the rebels. Maul's hallway scene is both brutal with his usage of the environment and steel plates, and yet a bit sad as the clones he's fighting are those who fought under Ahsoka's command. (The scene where the clone loses an arm while his comrade tries to pull him away is a shocking moment of brutality.)

I liked Vader’s a little more just because of how frightening it was to have darkness then a lightsaber ignite and Vader just effortlessly plow through rebels

Maul’s for sure made an impression, but Vader’s man is unbeatable. The redux of imperial march, the lightning from his Saber the genuine grounded brutality. Not to say that Maul’s wasn’t brutal. Maul has one hell of a history when it comes to limb amputations at this point.
