I dunno if the baby is really part of the problem/solution, but I'm also gonna guess the sorcerer isn't necessarily the bad guy here. IIRC Volkim's inner demon things feed on memory and mental activity, and with all the villagers going crazy and ranting off their favorite memories so fervently that they scratch through their own skulls to get at them, I wouldn't be completely surprised if it turned out some of Volkim's escaped buddies had a hand in all this...

2020-03-29 20:31:00 +0000 UTCI think it would be too obvious that the sorcerer caused the madness or is just trying to benifit from it. The best thing they could do now is attack the dogs, have Eric stay a safe distance from the ruin while the party tries to investigate the sorcerers place without him knowing. Maybe trick the hounds into distracting the sorcerer somehow while they snoop around. That way they could distinguish whether they're up to something or not.
