2020-01-18 03:58:00 +0000 UTCre: Aaron, yup, genetic trauma is a real thing. Trauma actually alters your DNA which can be passed down to future offspring. Not to mention the way you raise your children might be influenced by past trauma (for example, physical and mental abuse) which also can pass down trauma. These two things combined are sometimes called generational trauma. edit: Didn't see the comment that already brought up epigenetics
