They still don’t have much knowledge on Nen just the basics really. From what I’ve seen the issue is they are trying to put every technique they see in one nen category, which becomes harder and harder to do with some of these techniques that don’t feel like they fit into one. I think when they get to Greed Island arc and learn more about Nen and how people combine different principles and properties to create their techniques they will start to really understand how some things work better.

Fun fact: in terms of physical strength in the phantom troupe, chrollo is ranked 7th. So, it’s really up to how you use your nen and knowledge to defeat someone in a battle. I can’t remember the rest of the troupe members ranking in strength, but I recall that Uvogin was first (when he was alive), Phinks is 2nd, Hisoka is 3rd, Franklin is fourth, feitan is fifth, and Machi is sixth. Again, this is only about physical strength, funnily enough this was determined because the phantom troupe actually has arm wrestling matches LOL
