will you guys be starting class any time soon?

Ah, The Singing Towers ......

Henry from CO

Best day in BW history will be when they see the last ep of DW!

llB0JANGLESll

those were some dang great episodes and now we have so many great things ahead <3

Matis

10 dollar patrons get it, go to their website blindwave.net under the full length tab.

Ashley Jamieson

I love that you guys loved this. It's not as strong as Heaven Sent, but what in the Hell (pun intended) could be?

Robert Hill

I agree Capaldi is one of the strongest actors to play the doctor. Some of his stories were not the best (some were- loved the Davros ones and heaven sent) But as an actor he elevated the scripts. I really wish he’d continued for Chibnall’s first year as headwriter as I really wanted to see what he’d do with another headwriter/showrunner’s take on doctor Who. As far as Clara, I agree with Eric (I often agree with Eric) that the Santa Christmas special was her best ending, however I’m glad she stayed because this season was her best written.

Crankygrandma

That moment in Eric’s eyes when he thought Wilf was knocking on the tardis door... even though it would have literally made no sense I was thinking at that moment, oh that would have been so cool 😂. First time watching the ep since it aired, remember liking it then, loving it now

JamesA

I also think that it was Clara who knocked on the TARDIS door four times.

o

It has already begun the muted voices of those who wish for others to believe the way that they do. Thank you blindwave, I wish that you have been here earlier to end this fiasco but your reaction and review has made easier for the new viewers and reactors to just enjoy this two parter without all of the extras attached. Thank you for being the best of who we are supposed to be as a fandom and thank you for allowing people to just enjoy the Moffat era of this show.....it's Fantastic!!!!!!!

o

I'm unsure what you are responding to. I think you are saying that Clara is the only person that has a similar personality to the doctor. But I wasn't talking about to many people having a similar personality to the doctor. I was talking how everyone seems in awe by him anywhere he goes Which is not to my liking. I always like Gallifrey as a place where he is a person. A brother, a friend, a citizen etc... Not another place where he is mytical.

Oh do grow up. You're not superior to anyone who dislikes it. People who dislike it are not stupid. Get off the high horse and accept that people can have different opinions. Love it? Fine. Hate it? Fine. There's nothing objective here.

It's definetely a step down from Heaven Sent, and it's an odd paced episode because there's no real 'threat' to speak of, but I think it's beautifully shot and scored, acted phenomenally and I really do like it.

The Doctor

Interesting I see season 10 as much more plotty

Nick Earl

But she doesn’t die in this episode and her death is still the same. This is just exploring the consequences of her choices.

Nick Earl

I love it

Nick Earl

I love the last ten minutes of next week. The rest is goofy as hell! Which either you can go with or can’t. Sometimes I can but honestly I find the Hreg Davies robot worse than the Paving Slab woman in Season 2!

Nick Earl

You should watch episodes for what they are. Not for how they are marketed. This episode is much more beautiful and interesting than Doctor vs Rassilon.

Nick Earl

can't wait for three weeks time where we start my personal favourite season with my favourite group dynamic. I get why people don't like season 10 but to me, it's probably the fact that it's an anthology type of season which gives more to character development then overall plot.

Kiyan Qwindu

She still died in Face the Raven. It was s good death but a crap send off. The idea of finishing Clara’s arc on a crappy side alley in London rather than giving her s final episode challenging the realities of time and travelling the stars is ridiculous imo. Hell Bent was perfect

Nick Earl

I love this episode and don’t feel remotely bad that a lot of infantile fanboys disagree because they didn’t get their silly megafight between Doctor and Rassilon. This episode was totally in keeping with the themes, ideas and stories of this season and was a beautiful and sophisticated send off to one of the best companions in the shows history. This episode actually got great reviews at the time and ranks high in ‘best of’ lists for the show. Even if 5000 angry redditors keep trying to pretend otherwise, this is the last great Doctor Who season finale.

Nick Earl

Like this one too.

She was though. She's literally the longest serving companion in the entire show in terms of stories. In terms of number of episodes, she's the longest serving in the revived show. Clara had 36 episodes. Amy had 33 episodes. Rose had 33 episodes.

And no, that's not his mom. We've seen his mom. She's gone.

Scribbles

Moffat is physically incapable of letting a character die. He has to ruin the impact of their loss every. damn. time. I love Clara to bits, but I didn't want to see her back.

Scribbles

I actually kind of liked this better rewatching it now.

Woody Scales

I don't like how above everyone Moffat tend to makes the doctor. I prefer him having rivals and equals. So him being godly on Gallifrey is something I'm not a fan of. But I do like his companions for the most part and the work he did on them. Giving them more agency and dynamic than usual. The relation between 12 and Clara is my favorite(with 10 and Donna). I'm a sucker for best friends.

Doby Greg

Always loved how this brought The Doctor and Clara's story full circle with The Doctor willing to sacrifice himself over and over again to save Clara (Heaven Sent/Hell Bent), just as Clara was willing to do the same for him (The Name of The Doctor).

G0d_Ginrai

Random remark. I always felt it should be "Hell Bent" then "Heaven sent" in terms of naming order. I always mix up the names.

Doby Greg

Coming off the cusp of an amazing bottle-episode that just had Peter Capaldi being awesome, it was gonna be difficult to follow up with an even more epic ending. I still enjoyed the episode - even beyond some of its issues such as brushing off Gallifrey being back. Wondering if the guys will react to Class once they have got through the next 2 specials. It’s definitely one they should watch completely as it only got a series (but that is just down to the BBC marketing it poorly).

AdDifferent

Always loved this episode and always loved Clara.

Thomas Hansen

The crew ussually elevate the most ok episodes.

Doby Greg

I like this episode as an exploration of how strong the connection was between those 2 was. So much so that the doctor would f the universe for her and how that it means it went to war. I also find it interesting that the burden is shift in this one since usually the companions go on to a good/decent life while the doctor mourn their loss while on this one Clara is the one with the loss and we as watchers are mourning the doctor doesn't even really know he lost. But it is my least favorite Clara's death and I would have prefer the doctor mourning her for this last one or trying to resurect her but the process fail and she dies again in his hands. Everytime I think of her I can't help but feel she's in hell making her the companion with the most f uped end by far. And I think the visual of all the other deaths are better.

Doby Greg

It's weird that she wasn't actually a companion for that long yet it felt like she was there for longer than anyone else, unfortunately for me I felt they held onto her a bit too long but that's just me.

MrSkarred

I don't hate this episode, but I also don't love it.

Vidolin

Man, I love this episode! Perfect three parter with FTR and Heaven Sent! Can't wait for y'all to meet Bill though!

Joel Foster

Exactly same with me, i prefer Clara's death in face the raven as it was beautiful and perfect ending for her character, also it added an element of threat to being around the doctor as she wanted to be more like him but in the end it got her killed! I'm glad these guys enjoyed it though :)

I'm still mixed on this episode but I love thematically what it does and what it does for the Clara/Doctor story, I just think it's paced poorly. Looking forward to next week, I love next week's episode.

Evan!!

It's so weird, personally I've never really liked this episode and think it's the 2nd weakest finale in the revived series, but I'm so hyped to see the crew's reaction. I honest hope that they enjoy it more than I do.

ElBilbo

Blame the BBC for marketing it as something completely different. You'll find that most of the people who dislike this episode are people who watched it live 4 years ago.

does anyone know how to see the full reaction?

o

This episode got so much unwarranted hate because fanbros wanted it to be something other then what it was, there is nothing that can be done to change anyones mind on this. People are going to fall into whatever camp they wish, but this is why the Doctor Who fandom is both the best and the worst fandom. I predict the fellas will feel like everyone else who got to watch this outside of the vitriol of the time it came out. This is a wonderful episode and I hope you enjoy the hell out of it.

o

All of BW: “Clara is my favorite companion.” Me: deeply satisfied

G G

I think the first 20 minutes of this episode is brilliant, the back half not so much.

Ryan

I think the only reason I hated this episode when it was broadcast was because of the way it was marketed. Clara was out of the way and we were gonna have an epic 1 hour showdown between the Doctor and the Time Lords, seeing the fallout of the Time War and the repercussions of that. Instead, the Doctor wandered about for a bit, brought Clara back, and murdered someone for the sake of a sh*t joke.
