Yeah I get it. I'm just saying that if they went the other way, and his parents did die, it would also be a valid storyline, just going in a very different direction. And in my opinion, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing what that could have looked like either... probably would have been a much darker show though.

As much as I love this show, it kind of does abuse the fake-out death trope a LOT. Especially for Dimple.

He never invalidated its existence. He was just saying with this particular story it didnt need it and i completely agree. it wasnt about how the audience felt, it was all about how Mob felt. We are meant to see how mob would react in a situation where he thinks his parents are dead and those emotions he felt were VERY real. His parents being alive doesnt diminish what mob just felt and what he was about to do, it showed us a glimpse of what mob could become if he lost complete control.

I think that's just one perspective.. You can say that about anything. Everything can be interpreted in a million ways. Fact of the matter is that death is real, and it exists, and there's nothing wrong with portraying it. Saying it's unneeded implies like you're invalidating its existence. Good luck with that. I'm happy with the show. But if the parents died, that would have been a valid storyline too.

Indeed death is uneeded. My most satisfying conflict resolve is Mob reconstituting the book for the girl. The last scene of last episode was death, uneeded and a trick.

You always explain your fake outs. That's not what makes them bad. Triggering an emotional reaction from the viewer by tricking them is the problem.

People missing the point of this show. It's not a typical, "adventure/journey." Death is unneeded for the point of this story to be getting across. This is all about how no one person stands above others no matter how gifted they may be in anything, and that everyone needs other people in this world. Even our main end boss fight isn't really about the fight, it's about saving even the most lost souls, the president, in that case.

It wasn’t meant to manipulate viewers, it was meant to manipulate Mob. There’s a huge difference. This is motivation for our protagonist, and it’s handled well

It was the anime director wanting that shock factor and cliffhanger for the viewership. In manga, Dimple immediately said it's some planted dummies so don't freak out.

I agree that fake outs usually suck, but I think they explain it pretty well in the show. They needed to fake out mob so he would actually take action against claw instead of standing by. If they showed us first it was a fake out and then we watched mobs reaction, it wouldn't be the same. This way, we experience it together with the main character. It's still a fake out but better than most in my opinion.

I'm not fine with the parents being alive. I'm not fine with how was handled. I don't need the show to get dark but I need it to be genuine. And you don't make have Mob react to such gruesome scene if you know it's fake.

Depending on who you ask, it could be considered a flaw, but basically from what I can tell in this show, it tries to give everyone a "happy" ending

The ending of last episode was great. But this one erased it. I do not approve of fake outs and manipulating viewers. Either don't make that freak out scene that rely on Mob losing his family or follow through by killing at least the parents. That critism doesn't mean the show isn't good. But it's a first that it disappoints me.

I'm not either, but in terms of context of what's happening, it makes sense. Sho wanted Mob to go berserk, this was the best way to do it.

Couple things clearly don't ever mess with mobs family he also got crazy in season 1 when his brother was in jeopardy he was getting his ass kicked and no increase in his % but once ritsu got hit bam 100% and I think the show Aaron with 2 As (Forager is awesome gonna watch the season finale of that show after this) was talking about was called fact or fiction and even if it wasn't I remember the show so it wasn't just you

Damn you can tell in the intro that last episode is still weighing heavily on them especially Eric no one expected that even with the stuff earlier in the season nobody wants to believe this show went there love your reactions and mob psycho 100 is already one of my favorite shows just from what we've seen this season so far
