2019-07-31 23:57:48 +0000 UTCNope, young Davros (Joey Price) was only on DW this time around. BUT the child who played the young Master (William Hughes) in The Sound of Drums and Last of the Timelords also was in an episode of Torchwood, Sleeper.

2019-07-31 21:43:42 +0000 UTCI'm so hyped for this series. It's definitely up there with my favourites - and so is this series opener! But another reason I have been super excited for it is ERIC'S REACTION TO /THAT/ SOUND. It was glorious. (And it's only going to get better). Also, while I'm super excited to see the guys watch this series for the first time, I'm also really hyped to see Aaron rewatching it? It's going to be good. For an episode that's as full of stuff as this one is, I think it's impressive the amount of stuff it manages to pull off (imo). It has callbacks galore, Missy, the Daleks, Davros, character beats, Skaro... So much. But then again, it's so much to enjoy, isn't it? Reaction was amazing. Everything from the Davros reveal (!!) to Missy coming back (I love how much they love her because I love her to bits) to the Skaro reveal - and then all the absolutely hilarious/touching moments (the hug! Pretty Woman! Dudes!) that managed to get into this reaction (that's a lot in 10 minutes). The Doctor/Clara/Missy interactions are still so good. Also, this has made me rediscover one of my favourite pieces from the DW OST - Missy's Theme, Extended version. It plays here a few times, most noticeably when Clara and Missy are talking on the square. Love it so much. And yes, Peter Capaldi is playing the guitar. He's having so much fun. Aaaah. I'm so excited. For this and for the entire series ahead.

While they're not recorded live, he performed them beforehand and then mimed them on set where they would play recordings. Also, he was in a punk rock band with Craig Ferguson.
