There's no way that's not an exaggerated story, there's no way they'd let an actor throw a real knife anywhere near another actor

Also one you most prolly all already know when Sam is running thru water to get to Frodo in real life Sean Astin stepped on a broken piece of glass that was in the water and sliced his foot open bad through the prosthetic and had to get air lifted to hospital and get multiple stitches in behind scenes they show clip of it you can also find it on youtube I am sure it looks so painful lol

Another fun fact the Last Lurtz Aragorn fight the knife throwing scene was actually a accident cus of all the makeup and crap Lurtz actor could not see so then when he went to throw the knife which it was a very real nife he accidentally threw it right at Viggo instead of around him and he could have been seriously hurt but he luckily blocked it perfectly and thats the scene we get in the movie
