Clearly it's in the conversation. I mean, you can not like it, but you can't pretend something that is frequently in the top 5 list of greatest anime's, isn't in the conversation for GOAT.

If you think HxH is the GOAT, then your vision is clouded. In a world of Bebops and Brotherhoods, HxH isnt even in the conversation. The pacing is poor because the beats dont line up. Throwing in a scene so people actually see something happen doesnt change that. The tournemant arc is fun, but for the most part this show suffers from having too short of episodes with too much downtime. Sorry, but its true. From here to the arc of visiting a certain characters home, you could remove about half the content and it would be stronger than it is now.

The pacing is fine. They knew this was aslow episode so they cut in the Hisoka fight for action. If you have a complaint, it should be for the content. A fight based on betting isnt that interesting. Trick tower is the weakest part of HxH but it ties into the general theme of trope subversion that makes HxH the GOAT

Not sure why people do hate on this arc. The world is being built for all the arc after it. You just can't jump into intense arc with intense fighting right on the beginning of a series.

I do find these episodes a bit slow, but next one is kinda cool with Killua savaging. Either way, extremely anxious to the Phantom Troupe Arc.

As much hate as this arc gets, I'm glad there are people who enjoy it as much as I do. Frankly I love most of Hunter x Hunter, except for the Chimera Ant arc.

Fr Though i started watching this series when the Crew started reacting to it and i am wayyyyyy into the crazy video game arc and i can't even comprehend how much time it would take for the crew to reach that point. I am hoping the BTS crew make sure they don't react to the recap episodes.

these are the worst episodes of the series imo, gets a lot better after this... Ive watched reactors to this series quite a few times now, and tbh the more I go through it the more I wish people watched the 99 version instead. While it does have EXTREME issues with sound effects,..the art, even animation, story and length of the show are all things that benefit 99 over the 11 version. Hunter 2011 seems manic paced at times in this arc, while at the same time not showing much worth looking at... In the 99 version the realism and atmosphere of the exam is turned up to 10 in comparison, and more episodes allows for the world to feel lived in rather than hitting story beat and moving on.
