I guess I'm in the minority here, but I'm not really very excited for this show. It starts pretty good but the decline it gets is one of the worst of any show. Hannibal is a far superior show that focuses on serial killers tbh.

First time I’ve seen multiple things I wanted them to watch on a poll: I am unsure of how they work. Specifically, I am not aware of what happens to the losers. Are they eliminated completely or do they return for future polls?

They do a massive poll(Notreallyapoll, not sure what to call it) once(?) a year where first you comment on patreon to recommend shows (I think it was limited to one per user as in the first thing you recommend and nothing else) and then they have a big poll where you can choose however many of those shows you want and vote so they see which shows have the most interest behind them and based on that + I believe a bit of personal preference is how they determine what they poll when something ends. I can also guarantee both The Expanse and The Blacklist were already in the big poll.

Dexter is fantastic, its legacy is lessened by the dip in quality in the final few seasons, but many seasons 1-4 are stellar. Especially season 4!

I've actually watched more seasons of Dexter than any other show. Which is weird because overall I thought the show was pretty bad (meaning, looking at the entire show, just way more bad seasons than good seasons). But also addictive in its way. Definitely reactions to the first two seasons will be great!

The idea about wearing masks that Shane was talking about is from psychiatrist Carl Jung! He called the public image of ourselves the persona. If the persona is excessive then the true nature of ones personality will eventually cease to exist. In order to counter an excessive persona an individual would need to realize ones true Self or what he coined was the individualization process. Jung and his ideas are incredibly interesting even if he did go a little mad.
