Both the reaction (with it's obvious tension of people running into each other being almost ridiculous) and the discussion (I didn't see that slap-bet coming. Also the yaoi discussion, wow. Not somewhere I expected them to go today. But hey, Yuri!!! On Ice shoutout. 😂). But to be fair, Japan's stance on LGBT+ issues aside, Code Geass hasn't really NOT had any of that (Nina, girls crushing on Milly in school, a bunch of other things I won't get into now. It does have a writer who's worked on Utena after all). I'm still surprised this episode manages to have some real tension and dread despite, well... ALL THAT. Why is it, that one of the few times I actually *get* a movie reference, it's to freaking Overboard of all things. WHY HAVE I EVEN WATCHED THAT MOVIE? Who knows. (And they're remaking it? WHY?) Anyway, without commenting on the bet itself, I'm just impressed they got the definition of asexuality right, considering how many people get it wrong.
