Moffat actually stated that every appearance of the Cybermen from his taking over the show onwards were Mondasian. They just didn’t have the money to change the costumes right away.

Mondas is the original planet of origin for the Cybermen of the classic series. The Cybermen we’ve seen so far in the new series can all been tied back to Cybus Indusries in Pete’s World and their cross over to this universe in Army of Ghosts. I’m not sure what exactly happened for Mondasian Cybermen to not be also somewhere out in time and space since Henry van Statten had a Mondasian Cyberman’s head on display in season 1’s Dalek.

Certainly one of the darkest episodes of DW ever. Absolutely the best cyberman story of New Who. High concept, great sci-fi, funny, emotional, marrying classic with modern and delivering another great Master/Missy twist. Damn, i'm going to miss Moffat.

Im SO happy John Simm wasn't spoiled for MelRon! Literally BBC shit the bed with the series 10 preview with him at the end and spoiled it for me. (Perhaps viewership was dropping, and showing the New Who Master would draw fans from the RTD days with Tennant?) Thats my thought on why they did it. idk, I could be wrong.

I love that 2 parters. Since there's usually 13 episodes I was expecting it to start next week. That reveal at the end is just great. Both of them actually.

I feel like I'm really experiencing the surprise of the Simm!Master showing up through this reaction, which is great, because I'm still sad that was spoiled for anyone who was vaguely keeping track of the marketing for s10. I'm reclaiming the experience :D Seriously though, this episode is AMAZING and I love it, and I loved the reaction. It's so creepy and disturbing, and shocking, but at the same time it's surprisingly funny. I'm loving how funny they're finding Missy, also working out the black hole thing, AND Aaron recalling the old cybermen and the Master's evil goatee. Fantastic. Also YAY Aaron mentioning that River Song audio drama. Makes me happy. I'm so sad this is coming to an end(ish), at least s10 and Twelve. Not a lot left now. It's been great. Looking forward to the next couple of episodes (and then of course, s11). I'm predicting more tears.

Not going to lie, I'm the kind of person that regardless of spoilers I watch something in the moment. Like, I knew the Master was going to return that series but during the episode I was too busy enjoying it to realize that he was there the whole time!

You got to enjoy this episode the way it was intended, with a huge surprise at the end. Sadly the BBC decided to spoil us that John Simm would be reprising his role as The Master, right back before the series even started.

I wrote that first comment too soon. As to your later thoughts. I didn't think it was "Tie Me", but instead "Die. Me." Which is grammatically wrong, but a good way of expressing a death wish. And for the person asking if you knew about this. The BBC spoiled the appearance of the Master WAY back at the beginning of series 10. They showed him in a preview clip. So if you've been waiting for him to show up all season, then by the time you get to the end of episode 11 of 12, it's not a big shock that it's him.
