i don't think it's that. Eric was probably a lot like me early on with Smith. Ep1 had me "ok yeah he's the doctor" but at the same time I was like "i need a scene or a moment to prove himself" Which considering Eric mentioned about him getting angry during the last episode I think that is what Eric is really waiting for.

I don’t think Eric like Matt because he said I quote “I can’t believed he’s in the episode where her hand is turned to stone” I think after them watching until he leaves they’ll be more depressed and upset than they were with tennant. In my opinion Matt has different qualities to the other tennant and Chris had anger and fury whereas Matt makes his anger more funny and makes ppl laugh and is more careful and he does loose a lot and has amazing storylines and did I mention HE’S REALLY F*ing FUNNY AND WARM HEARTED

Fun fact, Moffat himself has talked about how that's one of the only scenes (the ending one) he actually regrets the way he wrote it.

I love the ending to the blink episode leaving them as that kind of monster that leaves with you but that you don't know. And the whole any image of a angel thing take that aspect out since any statue with a picture couldn't be one. But at least it is decently used to up the creep factor in this specific episode. I also don't like the thing with Amy because it doesn't really bring anything to the episode thematically and it takes out the meta and one of the most fascinating thing about the angels. So while I can respect the whole angel in your mind thing and also the any image beecoming an angel I have no consideration for the Amy thing because it is minor as a moment and takes out an interesting aspect of the angels. I don't like either because the angels were perfect at there introduction but I at least respect the first and think it works well to strengthen a stand alone while the second has no point. On a positive note I love the interaction of River and The Doctor in this one. She excels in many things and dominate him at some moment but you are constantly reminded that he is The Doctor and is the brilliant man that is always one step ahead.

Considering that one scene in the next episode, I may not like it but I always saw it as 'creative choice'. Moffatt created the Weeping Angels so he has the right to make changes that he believe will work. The one scene I really don't like is the ending scene, you all know what one I'm talking about, I mean... Why?

Top 10 episode, and even tho the next episode is not quite as brilliant, very good two parter. So many good ideas, the scariest villain, amazing dialogue, super tense, funny and exiting and it just looks fantastic. Also, "Blimey, your teeth! Have you got space teeth?!" XD

River is a time traveler! Also the whole evolving timelines thing really has nothing to do with the show beyond the idea that most events aren't fix and could change (mostly so the show can pretend there's some threat of the Doctor dying etc.) This is late on in their relationship for River and obviously only the second meeting for the Doctor.

Oh please, people who harp on about internal logic and consistency drive me nuts. An episode has no obligation to serve what happened before, it has an obligation to be dramatic, emotionally engaging and thematically resonant. That is why this two parter is brilliant.

These episodes completely ruined the Angels for me. They messed with the lore, in a scene somewhere in this two-parter and it takes way too much mystique and terror away.
