A Viking Longboat could travel like 15 km/h on average. The distance they have to travel will be well over 1000 km or so. That's roughly 3 days to travel from Norway to the Normandy in France. You guys have to keep in mind, Europe is much smaller than you probably think. Texas for example is way bigger than England or France.

Athelwolfs death made me cry like a baby . And I think Magnus is Ragnars son , there was more than just pissing going on . Margeriet is insane

The only reaction I will not watch, because I despised this episode so much.

Terrible ending to a great character. Doesn't matter whether or not it's realistic or that it was obvious symbolism. It was still awful writing.

Honestly what annoyed me the more about this season was the fact that Bishop just swaps sides willy nilly ALL THE TIME lol first it was for god and with Aethulwulf then he got captured swears to fight for Ivar he fights for him gets knocked out and captured by Lagetha wakes up and is like all right Im on your side now cus I wanna bang its just stupid and feels like he has no motives and writers have no idea what to do with him

I enjoyed 5A well enough when the episodes came out (even if I did notice the flaws), but going through these episodes again in retrospect it probably is the worst season of Vikings, at least since season 1. The good thing with Vikings though is that because of the fast pace and time skips it can fairly quickly get over the parts that are a bit meh and move onto something more compelling, which is what I hope we'll get with 5B. I'd say it was pretty much the same with season 4 - the first half was a bit meh (even if it had some amazing parts as well), but the second half was the best storytelling this show has ever had.

The problem with the show isn't that it's a slave to history, the problem is that it became a slave to the original cast... specifically and mostly Ragnar and Eckbert... the story of the vikings and their raids in England is the story of Ragnar's sons, the great heathen army and Alfred the Great... not Ragnar or Eckbert..

You guys are falling into nitpicking mode, because of one or two things you didn't like you're now looking for faults in everything... You questioned why everyone suddenly changed their vote in support of Alfred, for starters once the rightful heir puts his support behind someone that changes everything, think Theon/Yara, also they clearly showed scenes of Judith making some Frank Underwood power moves before the vote... finally, I took Alfred silence as him not wanting to get his hands dirty in the manipulation and dirty politics it would take to make him king, he knew what needed to happen but sat back and let it play out... also, the reason the athelkids were recast without a time jump was to catch them up with the natural time progression in season 4B which takes place roughly over 2 years, sort of the reverse problem you usually have with child actors when they age too fast for the shows pace.

At: 13:50, that was a very bad Call in all kind of sense.

when it comes to the why didn't they push the advantage its simple they didn't have an advantage, they won a battle in which they were out numbered in the first place, by the end of the battle they have a bigger force but not a much bigger force than Harold and Ivar's so they really can't attack Harold's lands especially since part of their forces are forest based ambush fighters that can't fight for shit out of the woods.

Alfred didnt ascend to the throne this way, all the rest of his brothers ruled before him. I understand Eric and Aarons points on the post battle topic, but i think it could have been a Pyrrhic victory for Bjorn and the others. Which meant that they were also licking their wounds.

I honestly like the death by bee, it a poetic death for Aethelwulf. He was a good man trying to be a great man and at the end he died in a very mundane way. Also his death scene is still fantastic, it still makes me cry.

Most of times people just die. Allergies killed ALOT of people. Not every person dies early in battle. Death and is quick yall want more fantasy than history / realisim then go watch more game of thrones.
