Hi Guys , long time fan, recently became a patron, couldn’t resist as we approached series 5 of Dr Who, you are in for a treat! Goose bumps just thinking about It (shiver) But! As we miss David Tennant, even now, I would love it if you reacted to Dr Who 500 miles, no spoilers, just a lovely little send off that will have you strangely smiling from ear to ear. X

I could be having a massive mind blank but are they in seasons 6 or 9?

So you guys know, the Daleks are always going to be part of the show. The family of the person who created them still owns the rights, and they allow the BBC to continue use them so long as they do so at least once EVERY SEASON. So yeah, they’ll always be around.

Don't care what anyone says - an Ontological paradox (google it :-) beats restoring Nobby the House Doctor by getting the whole world to wish _really_ hard any time.

I think Steven Moffat once said the Doctor was extra-stressed because it had been the end of a very long day that included The End of Time and The Eleventh Hour!

Didn't really react to it in the full length anyway.

One interesting observation on doctor who shows. Whenever a new companion comes, first episode is in present and following two episodes are one in past and one in future. Sometime second episode is in past and third is in future or vice versa.

One of the best moral dilemmas this show has presented storywise.
Gotta feel bad for the people who protested though. The only ones who wanted to defend the whale, got eaten by the whale :/

This episode has my favorite version of Eleven. I love how serious and pissed off he was at the humans. He usually see the good in humanity and always defends the human race, but he was so disgusted. Eleven usually uses humor and silliness to mask his pain, but he was just so done in this episode. He couldn’t even fake it. Omg I’m so excited for Time of the Angels. I really think you’ll like the first part of it

"I'm a little confused by the resolution here" - Yep, you're gonna be saying that a lot during the Moffat era. Don't get me wrong, I love Moffat (S5 and 6 are my favourites) and 11 is my favourite Doctor by far but Moffat isn't the best at resolving storylines.

Smith's become my favorite Doctor, though I held on to Tennant forever. I love his interpretation of the character and in nearly every one of his episodes, there is at least one scene where his performance really shines.

In the RTD era, every series finale had something that had escaped from the time war, like the Dalek emperor, the Cult of Skaro, the master and Davros. In Moffat's era they aren't the big bads, maybe Moffat knew the fans were sick or would get sick if they were used again and again. The BBC doesn't own the rights to the Daleks, Terry Nation, the original creator's family own the rights. The BBC get to use the Daleks but have to show them in an one episode a year/season.

Another cool thing the creators talked about re: The Eleventh Hour is the fact that Amelia has known Eleven as The Doctor longer than he's actually been The Doctor. Because of the botched time hop, he's been The Doctor for twelve years, not just a few hours.

Like, the problem with how Davies did Daleks is more or less the same problem the Arrowverse minus Legends has. The big awesome recognizable thing happens and then it gets destroyed or killed forever, instead of coming back around again and giving us even more fun. I’m not the biggest fan of some of Moffat’s choices but making the Daleks a more constant presence is definitely a plus.

Here’s my thing with Dalek. I thought that in the past (Davies era) they were too often used as series finale material and every time ending with the mostly if not entirely destroyed, only for them to come back again. Here they are brought back once again, but now to be used in more moderate episodes (with a few exceptions) and no longer with the pretence of eliminating them every time.

Every five years you get to vote but you forget everything youve learned. Feels like that was some political commentary on the modern world, like you keep voting in the same a-holes who make the same promises every time. I also get the feeling that the 'we all depend on the beast below' is somehow a commentary on an immigrant (alien) under class (under the ship) that people are afraid of but basically are responsible for doing the hard work of keeping society moving along.

To be fair, protesting means if your successful you die anyway if it wasn't their saviour, and the vote's still probably logged.
