But of course she did the eye deal twice so it nullifies her time. If she gained a 100 years more then at age 20, she'd live until 120 but the first eye deal knocked it down to age 70. The second eye deal knocked it down to age 45. I know she wasn't 20 years old used an example. But we didn't see Rem write any names down she doesn't seem to actively interfere with the Human World so I wouldn't imagine she had much time to give to Misa. Gellus also was obsessed with Misa so he probably didn't write many names either. I can't imagine she received too much time from him. Crazy to think about - but it's something we'll just never know.

What i find interesting is that Misa albeit a mass murderer like Light if she doesn't jump off the roof might live for hundreds of years maybe more.We don't know how much life REM had or how much the other Shinigami gave her.

That ending was perfect!!! 10 out of 10 XD You guys are too much and your discussion was really fantastic! I think this pitiful demise was long coming and indeed, the ending was very awkward to watch (in a good way) the voice acting done with such emotion and intensity. I mean, it was gorgeous (even in the ugly details lol) it's ugh I can't even articulate what I'm trying to say properly. The manga, as many have said, is much colder and offers more insight into the effects of Light's I mean Kira's demise. It isn't a wonderful peaceful ending and lends weight in an eerie unsettling way. I recommend checking out the manga (whether on your own or reaction, I'm fine with either) to get that 'epilogue' episode. I am happy how much you enjoyed Matsuda being the one most effected because I thought that was just so well done, just perfectly delivered. As well as Light writhing in agony desperately calling for Misa and Takada one whom he used relentlessly and left with nothing and the other he disposed of (in a horrible way) without a second thought. Ugh I said before season 1 was top notch and I'd call it the eerie calm before the storm, the unnerving quiet while season 2 is the storm chaotic and loud.

It's sad, but it has definitely been confirmed that Misa kills herself by jumping from the roof. Mello had a much bigger role in the Manga, and the ending of the manga was also a bit better. (In the manga, after getting shot, Light orders Ryuk to write Near's name in his notebook. Ryuk writes a name, but reveals it was Light's name instead of Near 's. That's when Light runs.)

I prefer it. Also Mikami does not kill himself, instead he renouces Light upon seeing his patheticness. However he later dies in prison. Matsuda theorized Near wrote Mikami's name down to manipulate his actions.

The manga gives a more complete epilogue and at least shows the world post Kira. Everything goes back to the way it was before Kira for the most part. The anime did make Light’s death more dramatic and tragic. The manga he dies much more pathetically. He begs Ryuk to kill everyone, gets smug when Ryuk starts writing only to be informed that his name is being writte instead, and Light begs him to stop and spends his last moments proclaiming he doesn’t want to die. I’m not sure if they would have preferred that ending better or not, so anime and manga ending have pros and cons.

How about you let people vote for what they want? Not everyone wants to see them watch anime. A lot of people get annoyed by the amount of anime that wins polls. If something non-anime wins a poll, that means that non-anime show was the most desired show on the list. Same thing goes for when anime wins, to the people who hate anime

Also the author of Death Note confirmed that Misa in fact did commit suicide after Light died, so it's canon. Also the fact that Light was Kira was never made public, not even to his mom and sister nor Misa. (She gave up ownership of the notebook so she lost all memory of her and Light being Kira)
