Sherlock 1x1 Reaction Early Access

Just so you know Shane, Mycroft was the guy funding Stanis from the iron bank in Game of Thrones. His name is Mark Gatiss and he writes for Sherlock and Doctor Who alongside Stephen Moffitt!

I'm so happy Shane is watching Sherlock and having Rick guide him on his Sherlock journey is a great choice honestly ^^. Keep up the good work guys.

I hope that the feedback doesn't put these two off continuing this series, even though I was hoping for the whole crew to react these two are still cool, I enjoyed the discussion they had at the end. I also hope the next episode of the show, which is kind of atrocious, doesn't put them off it because I think it's worth enduring for the big payoff in the third episode, as well as the first episode of season two.

I don't think they've sacrificed anything. Some people are just angry when they don't get what they, subjectively, would prefer.

Before this video I hadn’t seen much of Rick, and when there’s a lot of people in the videos we don’t hear much from him. Anyway, I was really impressed with him here, and by his Sherlock Holmes knowledge. This is a nice reaction duo. :)

In the last two polls viewers were surprised as they expected full crew reactions and instead got three people, then two people, without even explanations at first. You've replaced two extremely popular setups with two setups that half the viewers are disappointed in, and seem to continue to intend doing so. I understand the desire to do your own thing, but the reality is that you are a reaction channel sacrificing reaction to do something else. There WILL be complaints and a drop in support, since that's not what most of us signed up for.

Unpopular opinion but I think you guys need to be more transparent with the polls going forward. I think you should state who has seen what and should also give vague ideas of the possible crew lineups because I feel it would impact the voting . Don't get me wrong this was a great reaction and loved the discussion between Shane and Rick . However it's a waste of a poll show imo considering the only person who hasn't seen the show is Shane. Especially coming off of FMAB which none of you had seen before and also the bonus fact of it being a group reaction. Had this not been a poll show I wouldn't have a problem with it at all but lately it seems like we as the audience don't know exactly what we are voting for. All I'm asking is for more info on the shows in future polls . Keep up the great work, I'll support you guys no matter what.

I understand that small crew shows like this would be voted a lot loss if they were to tell us before hand on who would be reacting to them. It's just annoying having a 2 person show replacing something as big as FMAB which was a full person show.

Yes! Love Sherlock and love Shane's reactions. Since everyone else has watched this show, it would be cool to see different members of the crew watch with him on a rotation basis every week. Would be cool to see different people's perspectives.

I'm not nearly as... up in arms about it as a lot of people, not even into Sherlock in this case, but it'd be nice to have a vague idea of who might be watching each poll entry, even with the caveat that it's not 100% set in stone. Would probably have a decent impact on the results too.

Oh for the love of... Not even going to read all the comments section this time. So they don't have ALL FIVE GUYS reacting to this one, well zip-a-dee-doo-dah. Guess that means we all need to go jump off a cliff. There's nothing wrong with a couple guys to a reaction, get everybody on there and it occasionally feels a bit crowded. Two or three is JUST FINE. I hate to get a reputation on here for arguing, cause I'm here to have fun, but seriously, everybody calm down. Those are the ONLY two shows left that I'm interested in seeing their reactions from. DN is almost over and that will leave just My Hero left... and does one series warrent me spending 5$ a month to see it early when I'm not interested in their other reaction series?

I was expecting to miss Eric but I think this crew actually work very well. Eric is more production value and writing while Rick is more facts and trivia. I think with Rick Shane gets a little more space to just give his unfiltered opinionwithout less jumping and trying to correct his language. ANd with Shane actual enthusiasm to the show it works well.

Disappointed that Eric isn’t watching this show. He really adds to the conversation, keeps it on topic and weaves a narrative through it. Plus I enjoy his reactions as they seem genuine and in other shows acknowledges the smart use of writing, editing etc. I’ll still be watching, just a bit disheartened.

Aaaah, I loved this reaction! I’ve been meaning to rewatch Sherlock for ages and this definitely made me stop being lazy and actually get to it. Also I’m loving this dynamic for this team (so we have #TitanTrio and #Firebi. Is this #SherlockedDuo?) I relate to Rick in this. I’m also a huge Sherlock Holmes fan, I’d definitely be the friend saying a bunch of random related tidbits and comparisons. Fun fact, my dad read A Study in Scarlet to me when I was a kid, and I loved the first half, and then the mormon part started and I was SO CONFUSED and very bored. But that happens, when you’re a kid. Really glad Shane’s enjoying this, and going in almost completely blind (didn’t even know that it was modern day). So I’m really looking forward to this. And Shane doesn’t have to suffer through the 1-2 year hiatuses that we did. Lucky him. 😂 It’s fun to see Freeman and Cumberbatch before they both got sucked into the world of the Hobbit and Marvel (FOR BOTH OF THEM! I still find this funny. They keep ending up in the same franchises. Bilbo and Smaug). Speaking of actors, I think Shane might have recognized Mark Gatiss from either Doctor Who or Game of Thrones, as he’s in both of those shows. He’s also one of the creators behind this one, and writes a lot of the episodes (along with Steven Moffat, the other creator. They also have both written a lot for Doctor Who). Fun fact, both Moffat and Gatiss have said that they’re huge fans of The Princess Bride, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that reference that Shane picked up on was intentional. Anyway, really enjoyed that reaction (if it wasn’t obvious by my once again essay length comment), and I’m looking forward to looking back on this show with Rick and Shane. It meant a lot to me when it aired, and I’m always here for more Sherlock Holmes. Looking forward to next week!

Have to confess I find it a little irritating when one of the reactors clearly knows it very well and is prompting the other to react in a certain way - laughing almost before the jokes and giving clues. If you've seen it before, you need to take a chill pill. Otherwise it's a performance. Let the story tell itself (this is from full length reaction).

Cry me a river fs, thats why we have full length, plus they have done 90 minute to 10 minute with westworld and GOT before. The reason it was in the poll was because they were interested in it and it won the poll meaning other people are interested in it too.

And that's why people should have voted for Code Geass. 10minutes reaction to a 1h30min TV show or movie just doesn't work. Sherlock shouldn't have been in the pool in the first place. Now we're stuck for 12 weeks with reactions that won't make any sense.

Maybe it was a good thing Code Geass didnt win now? Just kidding, Shane has been much more energetic and focused in his reactions the past month or so in a long time which is great and Rick has settled very nicley into the group and fits in well with everyone. However, still hard to want to watch something thats an hr and a half and see it put into a 10 min reaction (i know, full length, but still not the same).

Ah well, there's only 3 months of this show for 13 episodes - one of the shortest shows they'll have reacted to. So the replacement will be here soon. Also Death Note is ending soon which will need replacing. Either way, there's plenty of content on their channel featuring all of them.

I loved that Shane loved it. Can’t wait to see him and Rick react to the rest.

I don't know why they list shows on the polls that only one person hasn't seen. It makes sense for them to divvy the crew up to give the others more time to work on other things but even still, was looking forward to the full crew.

The hiatus between seasons was almost two years (ah, how I remember the hell of waiting) because after the first season aired, it got really famous and the main cast (Bennedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman) got really busy with movies and projects. (They shoot season 02 and 03 during the whole Hobbit shoot and reshoot so yeah, there was a schedule conflict)

I get it's longer but Avatar and Doctor Who at least had/have reactors who have seen those shows so I don't quite get why that's a disqualifying factor now. I understand more the need to split up the crew to work on things outside of reactions but that just doesn't seem like a good reason with all the examples of that not mattering or being a hook for the reaction series before.

I understand them not doing a full crew for AoT because it didn't directly win a poll but came close. But this show did win, so the patrons most likely expected a full crew reaction. It would be best to let us know what the crew setup for each new show will be in a poll next time, cause that can influence some people's votes.
