Im still excited, but you are not wrong about the final episodes. Man I can't wait for that. I firmly stand by thinking that this show has one of the absolute greatest finales of any show ever.

I was always under the impression that L was French. Based on his real name. This was from the Death Note wiki: "When asked about L's ethnicity, creator of the series Tsugumi Ohba responded, "I think of him as a quarter Japanese, a quarter English, a quarter Russian, a quarter French or Italian, like that." " So in a way, we are all right LOL

I actually liked there being two of them to change things up. I like Mello more because I felt like he was better for creating more waves to keep everyone on their feet, but having two characters that embodied different traits or way L did things was a interesting idea.

Mellon isn't trying to be Kira. When he says he wants to eliminate the competition he's referring to Near. I don't think he necessarily wants to kill Near, I think he wants to shove his victory over Kira in Near's face, but I also think he's willing to kill Near if that's what it takes to beat Kira. If anyone is a bad version of L it's B, that guy's insane.

Just so you know, there are currently 3 notebooks (4 if we count the one Ryuk has for himself). The japanese police has one (the one that Light got from Ryuk originally). Misa has one (The one that she got from Rem originally) and Light has one (the one that Rem had for herself that was left behind after she turned to dust).

Similar to L's fondness for sweets, Mello is seen eating only bars of chocolate, even when talking. In the manga, he is seen licking the chocolate before eating it. Mello also has a habit of bending his right leg up while sitting, often with his left leg turned outwards. He tends to alternate between that pose and simply crossing his right leg over his left leg. Another trait of his that is comparable to L is his tendency to take drastic strategies to confuse and force the hand of his opponents.

Yeah both of them operate differently. One with emotion, the other using intellect.

You know those video games when you fight a boss monster and when you kill it, it actually split into two smaller monsters? Yeah that's L with Near and Mello.

I really love the stark contrast between Near and Mellow they both have a part of L but are both vastly different. Which having them both in the picture now will give Light even more of a challenge than he had with L I do miss the personal intimate Battle he had with L and that will always remain my favorite part of Death Note. But I think this second half of the show is also very good in a different way. Great video!
