Ed was using his own soul/life as energy, to bypass the Law of Equivalent exchange. So he was doing normal alchemy, but using his own life force in exchange for stitching himself up.

I just looked it up, and uh.... "Stone of Gelel" is a Naruto movie. FMA:Brotherhood has a movie that takes place during the middle of Brotherhood episode Episode 21 called "The Sacred Star of Milos", and if they were to do such a thing it would've been best to do it then since it takes direct place in the continuity of multiple major events happening before and after that change everything. (but more importantly than that is watching the full blooper reels after they finish the series).

I love they have gotten so into the show they are not only starting to forget to write notes, but also talking about practical applications for Alchemy in real life. I am happy that got this far, but it is bittersweet knowing they are reaching the final part of the series.

Really been enjoying your fullnetal alchemist reaction videos, as one of the few fans who actually enjoyed the OVA's it would be awesome if you guys reacted to the fma brotherhood feature length film "the stone of gellel" its a stand alone movie that takes place before the end of the series and its actually really good.

Not quite guys, The "Dragon's Pulse" are something along the lines of rivers of natural energy. Kind of like ley lines if you've heard of them. Also, Ed using his soul is him literally using a "philosopher's stone powered by one soul", it's "normal" alchemy using a stone.
