Actually this episode was absolutely necessary for Eleven and her development as a character.

2017-12-08 22:23:21 +0000 UTCI'm glad you liked this episode. Most hate it and I never got why. It wasn't my favourite but it didn't deserve the level of hate it got at all. I thought it had a lot of really cool stuff in it.

For me, it would feel bad if Eleven appeared to help them back in Hawkins withou showing where she went and what happened, it would be a major plothole for me. So I was glad that they showed what she was doing meanwhile, and how she came to the conclusion that Hawkins is her home, all by herself.

2017-12-01 22:19:29 +0000 UTCI can understand why people didn't like it, but for me this was honestly one of my favourite. Not only does it provide some character development for 11, but it expands the Stranger Things lore and universe, nicely setting up some threads for Season 3 to tangle with.
