I agree, but Academia doesn't have much of that. I mean, If you're lucky whoever dubs the shows rewrites the dialogue to remove the unintentional cheese, and academia does a good job of that most of the time.

I prefer subs in shows like this mostly because they tend to have a lot of cheesy dialogue. Sounds terrible if I can understand it. Sounds fine when I can't.

I don't think you actually know what the series is about. It's not any more childish than RWBY or Young Justice. In the most recent arc heavy themes like child abuse are explored to uncomfortable levels, and named characters meet incredibly violent and bloody deaths

No, it's perfect. Especially considering the lack of diversity in VAs for dubs. I hear this voice and instantly recognize it as Midoriya's. It's not like trying to pin Steve Blum's voice down to a certain role, or any other prolific VA.

I've watched both dub and sub several times. As far as voice actors there's only 3 characters I much prefer in the sub, all others are equally good. I generally like the changes the dub does to make dialouge, speeches, and other conversations sound more natural to native English speakers rather than just raw translation in the sub. There's only like 2 instances where I think the change wasn't good, or missed something. And I think the biggest thing is I don't like to focus my attention on reading subs (even if it's relatively small in the scheme of things) and just listen, especially if I'm doing something else while watching like washing dishes. It's fine to prefer the sub, but it gets old with people blindly just bashing on dubs, just because they are dubs.

While I do hate sub elitists who refuse to admit when a dub is better, and think that if there are any here they should hush up, I can't say that I like this dub. I don't think the sub is perfect, and I'm willing to admit when a dub is good. Soul Eater, Cowboy Bebop, FMA, Death Note, Code Geass, Highschool of the Dead, One Punch Man, etc. are all examples of good dubs. But when a dub is bad it's bad, and this one just doesn't do it for me. Half the characters sound great, but the other half are far from it. I haven't seen more than a few of the dubbed episodes though so maybe it gets better, idk.
