So Ed’s original arm and leg were really heavy. More than what a normal metal arm and leg would be for others. So his new arm and leg feel really light. In a way it would be like goku taking off his weighted clothes when he first fights Tien. He was able to move faster.

I think theres more to how they perform alchemy because of the way different alchemists specialise into different areas like mustangs fire, technichally any alchemist could do it but it took years of research to find out how to perform it. Same with greeds shield id assume its possibel for ang alchemist to do it but maybe he was born with the knowledge given to him by father?

The Dragon Lines is the same idea as Ley Lines that cross the surface of the Earth. Alkahestry use the Dragon Lines to transmit energy at a distance. They are not Chi meridians in the body or some internal energy. They are the Chi meridians of the Earth in a sense.

It is possible that Calvin’s idea of destroying carbon could work, but Scar assumed Ed’s arm was the same steel so he chose wrong. He didn’t exactly to get another chance afterward during the fight. If he had got another chance he could have readjusted his strategy and destroyed the arm by targeting carbon.
