One Punch Man: OVA #0 Reaction Early Access!

"Road to Hero"

One Punch Man: OVA #0 Reaction Early Access!

Comments

So hopefully you will watch "My Hero Academia" next :D

Your argument on dub is totally fine! It makes sense for reactions. Personally, I like subs more. But if you react to a show... I think I will get used to a dubbed show. At least that was the case for One Punch Man.

Actually majority of people in the u.s that watch anime watch it sub.

Jonathan baez

if were talkin dubs, death note takes the cake for me, hence my vote in the next poll will be death note

DapperDarius

I always forget that you guys (in the US) doesn't really watch shows with subtitles on since English is your first language. Here in Sweden we more or less only dub tv shows/movies for small children, the rest are in the original languages with subs. I started reading the subs on tv when I was about 8 so it just feels natural to me to watch with subs :)

Johanna Gustavsson

A love the one punch man reactions but are we gonna get some DCC this week?

Chris Jarvis

all of those titles after the names are including mr. mrs and all that can show affection (kun)

Sean Kimball

I think this sums it pretty well https://goo.gl/images/sRBBiu

Alex Morelli

and for the honorific kun- is more personal relationships, san- is more formal and generalized use, sama- is used for people in a place of authority or mentor/leader roles those are the main 3

Abhishek Kaushal

Then chan is usually associated with females (or with something cute, small, childish etc), kun with males and San with both and I think that san is higher on the scale of politeness

Alex Morelli

In the Japanese culture when you call someone with their first name they must be really close to you, like very close friends or lovers or whatever, otherwise it's disrespectful to call someone without kun-chan etc

Alex Morelli

there is more than 1 OVA this was the first released i belive

nick

This OVA is different than the OVA I've seen for One Punch man, maybe I missed something?! https://www.watchcartoononline.com/one-punch-man-ova-episode-1-english-dubbed

Cinthia Fernandez

Will there be full length for these? Not seeing them.

How long did u spend wrirting this LOL

Sorta feels like you guys feel the need to justify yourselves on dubs. But you don't. The argument that watching subs inhibits your style of reactions is 100% valid. Other comments like "i don't speak japanese," are not needed as they hurt your argument, glad you did not bring that up this time. For example, I don't speak Valeryian or Dothraki, but those scenes in GOT are incredible. You even say that the valeryian is cooler when Danearys gives her speech to the people of Mereen and then gives the order to launch the catapults. Anyway, no one logical is telling you to wach subs. But, even people like myself who watch dub primarily, are still begging you to not watch bad dubs. Im talking about Attack on Titan. Just don't watch that series please. It has so many copyright issues anyway and the japanese company behind it does not care about fair use. I watch everything you guys do, but i just can't sit through that one dub. Every other series that you realistically might get asked to do in the next 2 years - Death Note, Code Geass, Black Lagoon, Cowboy Bebop, Hunter x Hunter, Mob Psycho 100, My Hero Academia, Fate Series, and many others all have very good and sometimes even preferential dubs. I have seen reactors get hammered for NOT watching the dub on Death note and Black Lagoon, for example. Spare yourselves the Attack on Titan headache. Not worth sparing with Production I.G. on fair use either. It is a great show, but I have seen far to many reactors get nailed even when clearly following fair use.

Trent Deuster

I wouldn't say it's *infinitely* better, but it is better from a writing standpoint. One Punch Man is satire whereas Mob Psycho 100 has actual plot and character development.

JR

Hey, when you guys are done with OPM are you gonna check out Mob Psycho 100? Its made by the same creator and (personally) is infinitly better.

Cy Ndaba

Sama is also used for customers, deities, and royalty, right?

Darksteel78

...

Gringo

They were probably just giving it a try, both to hear the japanese version and to shut the sub-lovers up lol

Eric Keatts

Japanese Honorifics: San = Mr, Ms, Mrs, etc. / Kun = is for those younger than the speaker / Chan = can be diminuative in context, but is used for cute animals, lovers, close friends, or a someone with youthful spirit. / Sensei = Doctors, Teachers, and other authority figures. / Sama = more respectful version of San / Shi = for referring to a person who is unfamiliar to the speaker, typically a person known through publications whom the speaker has never actually met. / and finally Dono or Tono = roughly means "lord" or "master." It doesn't equate noble status, rather it is a term akin to "milord" or French "monsieur" and lies between san and sama in level of respect.

Eric Keatts

A quick breakdown would be San- Mr./Ms./Mrs. used in any situation, Sama- is with great respect, Kun- used usually after boys names for familiarity, Chan- term for endearment that's usually for girls,

Cody Enos

There's dubbed versions of the OVA's I dont know why you guys arent watching those versions.

Djibril Ramsey

Calvin's right on the honorifics. There are those for people who meet for the first time, others for people you're close with, etc.
